Get Ready for Fuecoco Madness: March Community Day Details Inside!

Yesterday, Niantic disclosed the complete calendar of Community Day activities for the upcoming season of Pokémon Go. They’ve now unveiled the first event, which will showcase Fuecoco, the Fire-type starter from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, as expected. This revelation was not entirely unexpected, given our assumption yesterday that either Fuecoco or Quaxly might make an appearance this spring, considering Sprigatito’s presence in January. Nevertheless, it’s still exciting news for those eager to catch a Shiny version of Fuecoco within Pokémon Go, or to transfer it to their copies of Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet!

On March 8th (Saturday), from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., local time, we’ll be having a Fuecoco Community Day event! During this three-hour window, players can find Fuecoco popping up quite often in the wild. Additionally, every player has a higher chance of encountering a Shiny Fuecoco. While the Shiny version isn’t dramatically different from the regular one, it features a change in color. Instead of the standard red, the Pokemon sports a soft pink hue. The black toes have also been replaced with brown ones. This color scheme persists in its evolved forms, Crocalor and Skeledirge, but the pink becomes noticeably darker in Skeledirge.

Regarding the ultimate version of Skeledirge, players who evolve Fuecoco during or within a week of Community Day will unlock a unique Featured Attack – Blast Burn. This powerful Charged Attack boasts a strength of 110 in Trainer Battles and 120 in Gyms and Raids. For those seeking a strong Fire-type character, the addition of Blast Burn to Skeledirge’s arsenal promises to make it quite formidable. Niantic is also expanding Skeledirge’s move set, with Torch Song becoming available as a Charged Attack option from Community Day onwards. This move will have a power of 70 in Trainer Battles, and Skeledirge’s Attack stat will temporarily increase after it’s used. In Gyms and Raids, the power increases to 100.

During Fuecoco Community Day in Pokemon Go, there are several rewards up for grabs! For every catch you make, you’ll get triple the usual amount of Stardust and double the regular Candy. If your trainer level is over 31, you’ll have a higher chance of receiving Candy XL upon catching a Pokemon. Lure Modules and Incense activated during this event will last for three hours instead of the usual one. From 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. local time, players can perform an additional Special Trade (making it two trades for the day), and all trades require only half the Stardust as usual.

All Pokemon Go enthusiasts participating in the Fuecoco Community Day event will receive a unique bonus: a week-long Timed Research task. This task is similar to those offered during previous Community Day events and provides an opportunity for players to unlock a Special Seasonal Background. Additionally, there will be an increased likelihood of encountering a Shiny Fuecoco while completing this Timed Research. Remember, you must finish the task by Saturday, March 15th at 10 p.m., local time.
