To put it simply, we’re quite fond of the Sonic kart racing games, but our favorite among them is Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. The reason? We appreciated the gameplay, which seems to be similar to what Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds offers, and we also relished the diverse cast of characters.
As a devoted fan, I’m optimistic that SEGA’s latest racing game won’t solely feature characters hailing from the Sonic universe. Instead, we might see a diverse cast joining the race!
On the PlayStation Blog, SEGA’s Public Relations Manager has subtly suggested that fans might encounter a roster featuring “well-known characters” from both the Sonic and SEGA universes.
From this, it seems clear that, in addition to the characters previously announced such as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Amy, Eggman, and Jet, there may also be the possibility of seeing characters like Ulala, Amigo, and possibly even Kazuma Kiryu. However, Danica Patrick is unlikely to appear.
The game appears stunning, and the CrossWorlds feature introduces an ingenious twist to the play. In essence, by Lap 2, whoever is in front gets to select a Travel Ring, which alters the entire course. Some of these tracks will change from typical go-karts to water and flying vehicles.
This year, you’ll have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with an initial edition of the game through a Closed Network Test on both PS5 and PS4. We’re genuinely excited to give it a go ourselves.
