Excitement for Netflix’s version of The Thursday Murder Club has steadily grown since its announcement three years back, but it has never been higher than it is now after the debut of the initial film clips.
In the latest preview, viewers catch a sneak peek at Helen Mirren portraying Elizabeth, Pierce Brosnan as Ron, and Ben Kingsley in his role as Ibrahim, all participating in an intriguing investigation of a 1973 cold case, purely for enjoyment.
However, things soon take a chaotic turn whey they are thrown into a real crime on their doorstep.
Additionally, the trailer offers a glimpse into some of the secondary characters, among whom are Naomi Ackie, Ingrid Oliver, David Tennant, and Daniel Mays.

In April 2025, not only was a piece of news revealed, but also four brand-new images were shared, offering us a glimpse into the main group of four characters portrayed by Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie.
The filming for the movie concluded in September 2024, and it is scheduled to hit theaters approximately one month prior to the publication date of Osman’s newest book in the Thursday Murder Club series, titled “The Impossible Fortune.

The Thursday Murder Club plot: What is it about?
The thrilling television series, The Thursday Murder Club, is adapted from Richard Osman’s popular book of the same title. It revolves around a quartet of retirees – Elizabeth, Ron, Ibrahim, and Joyce – who engage in an intriguing pastime: delving into unsolved murder mysteries for their amusement.
The summary of the movie states that when a mysterious death happens right outside their home, their casual investigating unexpectedly transforms into an exciting and genuine murder mystery for them to solve.
The upcoming movie is helmed by Chris Columbus, who previously worked on the initial Harry Potter films. In a recent interview with Collider, Columbus shared that the film will adhere to the storyline from the first Thursday Murder Club book. However, he also disclosed that some incidents and narrative elements have been modified.
He clarified that certain parts had to be cut due to time constraints. However, the book’s biting wit and humor, as well as the emotional depth of every character, remain intact in the movie. The film is remarkably true to the original novel.
The movie originates from Steven Spielberg’s production house, Amblin Entertainment, and he himself paid a visit to the set while it was being filmed.
