During its CES 2025 press event today, Sony emphasized their commitment to anime for an extended period, highlighting that they are fully invested in this swiftly expanding genre.
Instead of primarily focusing on why anime holds significance during its presentation, it also unveiled a fresh endeavor: Ghost of Tsushima Legends, a concept drawn from the ominous multiplayer fantasy mode within Sucker Punch’s game, jointly produced by Aniplex and Crunchyroll. This series is set to premiere in 2027.
According to the press release, Takanobu Mizuno (from Star Wars: Visions – The Duel) is set to direct a new anime series at Kamikaze Douga. Gen Urobuchi will be responsible for the story composition. This anime project is being developed in partnership with Aniplex, and Sony Music will handle the music and soundtrack production. At the time of the panel, no further staff or cast members were revealed.
Did you know that a real-life adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima, similar to John Wick, is being developed by its director, Chad Stahelski?
Would you be intrigued by the idea of an animated series based on Ghost of Tsushima? We think it could work well, and we’re eager to discover more details about it as time goes on.
