In an interview with Famitsu, co-creative director Jason Connell hinted that Ghost of Yotei will offer Sucker Punch’s most open-ended gaming experience yet, largely due to the game’s expansive map and size.

View Urgent ForecastFollowing Connell’s statements, the upcoming game, Ghost of Yotei, promises to offer the largest open world map ever built by Sucker Punch Studios. This implies a broader gaming experience compared to 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima or any of the inFamous series. According to Connell, players will have the freedom to pursue and track down the main adversaries, collectively known as the Yotei Six, in any sequence they prefer. Moreover, Connell hinted that the gameplay will be more player-directed rather than following a predetermined script.
Connell stated that our open-world game offers unparalleled freedom and an extensive map – the largest in open-world gaming history. This means players can traverse freely while seeking out the Yotei Six, and they’re given the opportunity to confront them on their own terms, rather than being guided by the game itself.
In addition, Sucker Punch has unveiled a feature allowing players to establish campsites anywhere within the expansive open world. Learn about this further by clicking here.
Ghost of Yotei launches for the PS5 on October 2, with pre-orders going live on May 2.
