Glen Powell Shares DC & Marvel Casting Updates

As a long-time comic book enthusiast and avid moviegoer, I can’t help but feel a pang of anticipation every time Glen Powell mentions his desire to join the superhero ranks. With his charm and charisma, he seems tailor-made for the role of a hero, or perhaps even a villain with a twist.

As a dedicated fan of both Marvel and DC comics, I have been eagerly following Glen Powell’s career, hoping to see him bring one of my favorite superheroes to life on the big screen. Having grown up reading these stories and watching their adaptations for years, it feels like a dream come true that an actor as charismatic as Powell might be considered for a role in either universe.

The actor from the movie Twisters left the panel in awe when he admitted, “Funnily enough, neither DC nor Marvel has ever reached out to me, but I’m a die-hard fan of their work. I recently watched Deadpool and Wolverine, and let me tell you, it was an absolute blast! The work by Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds on that project is nothing short of extraordinary, offering a delightful twist for viewers. I wholeheartedly support them and admire their creativity.”

“I think James Gunn, Peter Safran, and what they’re doing at DC– I think it’s going to be really, really good for that business,” he added. “So, it’s like, yeah, I cheer them all on. I’m a big fan of the movies.” So comic book movie fans are left waiting for the eventual announcement of some casting. To think that DC or Marvel haven’t been monitoring the success of Twisters or Top Gun: Maverick or Anyone But You would be wild to consider. That role is going to come around at some point if he keeps breaking the box office.

What Roles Would Powell Be Interested In?

It’s apparent that the idea of superhero fame has been lingering on Powell’s thoughts recently. Not too long ago, he discussed his chances with DC or Marvel in an interview for GQ Magazine. So far, Marvel hasn’t approached him about any roles, but he’s optimistic that director James Gunn will reach out regarding a specific hero. The conversation made it clear that Powell is a huge Batman fan and has ideas to steer The Caped Crusader towards an intriguing path, should the opportunity ever arise.

As a die-hard Batman fan, I’ve always been drawn to the Caped Crusader. My take on him would veer away from the Matt Reeves approach; instead, it’d lean more towards the vibe of Michael Keaton. And there I was, stumbling upon the ’80s Batmobile, and boy did it feel like coming home! Just look at this beauty – it’s a clear nod to that era.
