As a long-time admirer of the gaming world, it’s always thrilling to witness such exciting shifts within the industry. Raf Grassetti, the mastermind behind the breathtaking visuals of God of War Ragnarok and many other iconic games, has just hopped from one PlayStation powerhouse to another – from Santa Monica Studio to Naughty Dog!
Last May, the art director of God of War Ragnarok, Raf Grassetti, departed from SIE Santa Monica Studio following a tenure of a decade. Now, he has moved on to work with another leading first-party PlayStation studio.
Stepping into the gaming world with excitement, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined forces with the masterminds behind Uncharted and The Last of Us, Naughty Dog Studios! Can’t wait to dive deep into their creative process and see what lies ahead in this new journey. Stay tuned for more updates!
At Santa Monica Studio, Grassetti contributed to the creation of God of War (2018), a project he had previously been part of at PlayStation where he was involved in the development of The Order: 1886, Killzone Shadow Fall, and inFamous: Second Son. In his past, he also worked on Mass Effect 3 at BioWare.
At present, we’re unsure about the specific project Naughty Dog is developing, but they shared a year ago that they were working on several large-scale single-player games. Among these, it’s confirmed that a character portrayed by Troy Baker will return, while one of these titles might potentially be a new intellectual property.
