The 20th anniversary of the God of War game is approaching on March 22nd, but fans will get a special treat before that: on March 20th, they’ll receive a free update that honors the first game. This update, titled the Dark Odyssey Collection, introduces Kratos’ black and gold outfit from the original game into God of War Ragnarok. What’s more, you won’t need to complete the game on its most difficult setting to access this new feature.
Alongside the Dark Odyssey Kratos skin, gamers will acquire a complete Dark Odyssey Armor set comprising a breastplate, bracers, and belt. Characters Atreus and Freya will also don Dark Odyssey armor, while customization options are available for the Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos, and Draupnir Spear. Additionally, new accessory add-ons are included, but only once the weapons have been fully upgraded.
Additionally, each shield will now sport a unique Dark Odyssey design. For players seeking diverse visual options, the new Edit Appearance tool is included in this update, enabling customization of weapon accessories and shield appearances.
It appears that we’ll need to be patient for any news about remasters of the original trilogy or a new game featuring Kratos in his youth set in Greece. Keep an eye out for updates in the meantime.
