God of War Ragnarok PC Nearly Reaches 23,000 Concurrent Players on Steam

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt and a library filled with gaming memories, I must admit that I was eagerly anticipating the release of God of War Ragnarok on PC. The success of its predecessor on Steam had set high expectations, but alas, it seems that Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece has not quite managed to reach those heights yet.

The long-awaited release of Santa Monica Studio’s God of War Ragnarok has hit PC, but unfortunately, its debut on Steam didn’t reach the heights of its 2018 predecessor. At present, as reported by SteamDB, it peaked with 22,967 players simultaneously enjoying the game.

On January 16th, 2022, God of War (2018) had 73,529 players simultaneously on Steam. Since it debuted on January 14th and performed exceptionally well over the weekend, it’s plausible that Ragnarok will replicate this achievement. However, it’s worth noting that the original game didn’t require linking to PlayStation Network for play (although it was a single-player title), so we can speculate on how much the sequel might be affected by that factor.

Additionally, it stirs apprehension regarding the forthcoming remake of Until Dawn by Ballistic Moon, slated to release on October 4th, not just for PS5 users, but also PC gamers. Keep an eye out for further news about this title, which necessitates a Steam account linked with PSN.
