God of War Remaster Could be Revealed Closer to 20th Anniversary Celebration – Rumor

Before the recent Sony State of Play event, there had been whispers about the classic God of War trilogy potentially receiving an update. This speculation also fueled rumors about a new game, which would be set in ancient Greece and focus on a younger Kratos and his bond with his father.

As a dedicated gamer, I was hoping to see some news about the God of War remaster, but it looks like we might have to wait a while longer. It seems Jeff Grubb from Giant Bomb hinted that the rumors were a bit premature. He mentioned in response to an artist’s post about creating an Odin piece for Gallery Nucleus that such developments are likely to happen closer to this, implying it could be around the series’ 20th anniversary in March.

Should the enhanced God of War trilogy be unveiled, it might drop this year on PS5, adding to Sony’s lineup that includes Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Although the next God of War game may require more time, its arrival could potentially be just around the corner given that God of War Ragnarok came out in 2022. Keep an eye out for further updates until then.

It seems like those God of War remaster rumors might have been a bit premature. The events are more likely to occur a bit further down the line.
