There’s a general understanding now that the upcoming God of War will return to ancient Greece, featuring elements of the 2.5D Metroidvania genre, much like the highly praised Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time – The Lost Crown from last year.

Mega Cat Studios, known for producing several pixel art-style games like Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit, is one studio rumored to possibly work on this project, so draw your own conclusions from that.
