We can’t stop talking about Miley Cyrus’ Golden Globes look.
The reason for this is that the Disney Channel alum, who has been nominated in the Best Original Song – Motion Picture category for “The Last Show Girl‘s “Beautiful That Way,” made a striking appearance at the red carpet event on January 5th. Her outfit was reminiscent of the Y2K era and included an uncommon accessory: sunglasses.
Miley Cyrus not only wore a black spaghetti-strap gown adorned with shimmering cut-outs and styled her hair in a messy yet stylish updo to match, but she also accessorized with retro-inspired black-framed Chanel sunglasses. Miley has been nominated for a Golden Globe for the second time, and this isn’t the only recognition she’s received. Apart from her role in “The Last Show Girl” alongside stars like Pamela Anderson, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Brenda Song, Miley was also nominated for her song “I Thought I Lost You” from the 2009 film “Bolt”.
Miley isn’t the only teen star from Disney or Nickelodeon attending this year’s Golden Globes. Additionally, Zendaya, Selena Gomez, and Ariana Grande are also hoping to win an award.
Zendaya has been nominated for the Best Female Actor category (for Musical or Comedy films) due to her role in “Challengers”, whereas Ariana received a nomination for Best Supporting Female Actor in any motion picture, thanks to her portrayal of Glinda.
In terms of nominations, it’s Selena who’s leading the way this evening, with one nod for her work in films and another for her work on television.
On the television front, the actress from “Wizards of Waverly Place” received her third nomination for her role in “Only Murders in the Building”, a show that also stars Steve Martin and Martin Short. Simultaneously, she secured her initial film nomination for “Emilia Pérez”, a movie that amassed an impressive total of ten nominations.
Following the nomination announcements, Selena reflected on what the honor meant to her.
She gratefully expressed her sentiments and felt humbled to have been nominated for two special projects close to her heart. This acknowledgement fuels and encourages me, pushing me to strive harder. I couldn’t be more proud of my Emilia Pérez team and Only Murders family,” she stated.
