Golden Globes: Nikki Glaser Calls Out Plastic Surgery, Ozempic Craze

Nikki Glaser kicked off the 2025 Golden Globes with a bang.

This year’s awards show, hosted by the groundbreaking solo female comedian for the first time, started off by poking fun at the recent trend of Ozempic use in Tinseltown in her opening remarks.

Evening greetings, and a warm welcome to the 82nd Golden Globe Awards taking place on January 5th! Tonight is a special occasion for Ozempic.

Towards the end of the program, the comedian, who was also a nominee this year for her standup special titled “Some Day You’ll Die,” also poked fun at the celebrity tendency to undergo plastic surgery and subsequently explain their altered appearances by citing other reasons.

Nikki exclaimed, “I really appreciate how you position your cheekbones,” which drew laughter. “Just like me, I also consume plenty of water. I won’t pass judgment on that. I partake in it as well.

The 40-year-old added, “I love how meditating removes your eyelids, really convenient.”

Previously, it was disclosed that the host of “FBoy Island” initially postponed considering invasive cosmetic surgeries upon receiving an invitation to host the award ceremony. (Take a look at all the fashion on the red carpet.)

In an interview with CBS Mornings last December, she mentioned her potential plan for early 2025, which involved considering a brow lift or a more intrusive surgical procedure that she had been contemplating.

In the remainder of her opening speech, the actress from Trainwreck playfully joked about various individuals ranging from Nicole Kidman to Ben Affleck. However, she had previously mentioned that she intended to steer clear of one particular subject: The controversy surrounding It Ends With Us involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

She expressed to Yahoo Entertainment on January 2nd that the topic is so sensitive and controversial at the moment, any reference to it might create an impression that she’s taking a stance against it, although that is certainly not her intention.

Nikki stated, “In addition, I prefer not to mention his name. To tell you the truth, I’m angry that I know his name at all, so there’s no need for me to use it again.
