The reason why Chilean Sea Bass was selected among all the sea’s fishes might lie in its popularity as a dish served frequently at upscale dining establishments.
Danielle Brown, Vice President of Goldfish, commented to Today, “It’s clear that fondness for Goldfish transcends all age groups.” In her statement, she added a witty reference to the adult audience: “The Chilean Sea Bass refers to the fact that our classic fish-shaped snack isn’t just for kids, but caters to more sophisticated palates as well.

A month ago, the name modification took place for Goldfish, as its parent company, Campbell’s Company (formerly known for soup), shed “Soup” from its name to better represent their extensive variety of food items such as pretzels, chips, cookies, and indeed, Goldfish crackers.
