Good Omens star Michael Sheen teases “satisfying” end after “extraordinary” reaction to season 2

As a seasoned movie critic with over three decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the anticipation for Good Omens’ third and final season is nothing short of biblical proportions. Having witnessed countless cinematic masterpieces unfold on the silver screen, I can confidently assert that few series have captivated audiences quite like this whimsical tale of angelic intervention and demonic intrigue.

A lesser number of current television shows enjoy as fervent an audience as Good Omens, and lead actor Michael Sheen hints that viewers can anticipate some delightful surprises once the third and concluding season starts broadcasting.

At this point, the release date is still some time off – filming for the final stage is slated for January next year, and we anticipate it won’t be ready before late 2025 or early 2026. However, Sheen seems optimistic that when it does come out, it will deliver exactly what viewers are hoping for.

Speaking in a recent interview with TV Insider, he remarked that one remarkable aspect of being involved in [Good Omens] is its devoted audience, its passionate fans, and the fervor surrounding it. It’s crucial to treat it with great care because it deeply impacts many people.

He commented: “The response to the conclusion of season two was astonishing. Therefore, I genuinely believe and am confident that season three will offer a fulfilling experience for all.”

Earlier this year, Tennant hinted at a romantic development in the last season, as he mentioned during an interview with Michelle Visage on the BAFTA TV Awards red carpet.

Inquired about whether the series finale would halt their on-screen kisses, he replied: “Actually, there are quite a few more kisses saved for season 3! To tell the truth, I’m not entirely sure myself, but you get the idea.”

Previously, it was unveiled that the upcoming third season will once more tackle the apocalypse – offering salvation only if Crowley and Aziraphale join forces again.

Let’s just hope they can get their happily ever after…
