Goosebumps Season 2 Release Date, Title and Teaser Revealed

As a die-hard fan who grew up with R.L. Stine’s spine-tingling tales of terror, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming season 2 of Goosebumps! With the mastermind behind Friends, David Schwimmer, joining the cast, it feels like the perfect blend of laughter and fear that only the world of Goosebumps can deliver.

Happy Birthday to the legendary author R.L. Stine! To mark this special occasion, Disney+ and Hulu have revealed that season 2 of the “Goosebumps” anthology series, titled “Goosebumps: The Vanishing“, will be released on January 10th, 2025. In a delightful twist for fans, all eight episodes of the new season will be available simultaneously. Following the 2023 “Goosebumps” TV series, which starred Justin Long as a ghost-possessed teacher, the upcoming season will feature Emmy Award nominee David Schwimmer (known for his roles in Friends and American Crime Story) as Anthony Brewer, a former botany professor with a deep fascination for science and mysteries.

Watch the Goosebumps season 2 title reveal below, revealing the first look at Schwimmer’s role.

“The Vanishing: Goosebumps”: The story initiates with fraternal twins Devin and Cece adapting to their new life with their recently separated father, Anthony. However, the siblings soon sense a sinister presence, leading them to conclude that hidden darkness lurks within their own family. This revelation triggers a sequence of events that gradually uncovers a deep-rooted mystery. As they venture into the enigma, Devin, Cece, and their companions – Alex, CJ, and Frankie – become inextricably linked to the eerie tale of four teenagers who vanished without a trace back in 1994.

The movie “Goosebumps: The Vanishing” takes inspiration from various beloved Goosebumps books, such as “Stay Out of the Basement” (1992), “The Haunted Car” (1999), “Monster Blood” (1992), “The Girl Who Cried Monster” (1993), “The Ghost Next Door” (1993), and “Welcome to Camp Nightmare” (1996), among others.

Joining Schwimmer for the upcoming season are series regulars Ana Ortiz, who was seen in ‘Love, Victor’, playing Jen; Jayden Bartels from ‘Side Hustle’, portraying Cece; Sam McCarthy of ‘Dead to Me’, taking on Devin; Elijah M. Cooper from ‘9-1-1’; Francesca Noel, known for ‘R#J’, as Alex; and Galilea La Salvia from ‘Talia in the Kitchen’ as Frankie. The producer, Conor Welch, shared that we struck gold with the ensemble cast for this series. These five up-and-coming young adult actors clicked instantly and capitalized on their genuine and authentic dynamics as a group. Our intention is to continue chronicling this group of characters across multiple seasons and numerous episodes, as we have access to all the books in the series, providing ample opportunities to delve deeper into the story.

Pavun Shetty expressed his hope that future generations, including our grandchildren, would enjoy watching all the episodes, reading all the books, and so on.

As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that I’ve learned about the incredible team behind an upcoming Disney Branded Television and Sony Pictures Television series. I, for one, am thrilled to see the talents of Nicholas Stoller (known for his work on The Muppets), Rob Letterman (Pokémon: Detective Pikachu), and Hilary Winston (Community) combined in this project, serving as executive producers.

You can currently stream the first season of Goosebumps on both Disney+ and Hulu, and mark your calendars for January 10th as that’s when the second season will premiere.
