As a seasoned spacefarer with more scars than stars in my galaxy map, I can’t help but be intrigued by Harebrained Schemes’ latest offering, Graft. The teaser trailer alone sent shivers down my spacerig, and not just from the cold void of space.
At last, Harebrained Schemes has revealed their upcoming role-playing game titled Graft. Alongside it, they’ve released a trailer showcasing some early gameplay footage. This title is set to release on PC through both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Take a look at the preview below.
In a nutshell, the game Graft is billed as a role-playing game that combines sci-fi, horror, and action elements. It takes place on the Arc, a colossal derelict space station. The player navigates through its ominous corridors to gather supplies and stay alive amidst the prevailing gloom and turmoil. As you progress, you’ll encounter grotesque creatures, some of which require their body parts (as suggested by the game’s name) to be grafted onto your character for acquiring new abilities.
Absolutely, when you acquire the memories of past users from various components, there’s a fascinating Ship of Theseus-like question that arises: Are you still the same individual even though much of your makeup has been swapped out? This notion is quite thought-provoking.
During their adventure, players will meet various characters along the way, forging partnerships and shaping their own fate in terms of survival. While the game has an action role-playing style, it’s essential to make thoughtful decisions about which conflicts to engage in.
Graft doesn’t have a release window so stay tuned for more updates in the coming months.
