Sony, in collaboration with developer Polyphony Digital, has launched an update for the game Gran Turismo 7. Labeled as version 1.57, this update incorporates a variety of fresh features. These include new vehicles, enhancements to the Café menu, new competitions, and refinements to the Sophy AI assistant.
In an update for Gran Turismo 7, three freshly included vehicles are now available: the Aston Martin Vantage from ’18, purchasable at Brand Central, the Mazda CX-30 X Smart Edition from ’21, also found at Brand Central, and the Renault Kangoo 1.4 from ’01, obtainable either through Brand Central or Used Cars section. On the PlayStation Blog, senior product manager Ken Chan has shared comprehensive insights about these new vehicles in a recent post.
The Aston Martin Vantage ’18 continues the fundamental principles that have defined the Vantage series since 2005. Sharing the same platform as the DB11 V8, but with a reduced wheelbase, this vehicle boasts a weight reduction of 120 kg compared to the DB11 V8, enhancing its performance in cornering maneuvers. Powered by a Mercedes-AMG 4L V8 engine generating 502 horsepower, the Vantage ’18 accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds and can reach a top speed of 195 mph.
The 2021 Mazda CX-30 Smart Edition is an SUV built upon the SKYACTIV-X platform. Equipped with robust mechanics such as a 2L gasoline direct injection engine that utilizes spark-controlled compression ignition, this model also boasts a variety of driver assistance technologies. Among these are the Active Driving Display, which presents crucial information directly onto the windshield as a heads-up display (HUD), and the Smart Brake Support system, enhancing emergency braking capabilities.
The Renault Kangoo was initially created for the market of compact cargo vans as early as 1997. However, the model featured in “Gran Turismo 7” from 2001 has been improved with a 1.4L gasoline engine and 73 horsepower. Although it’s not the quickest vehicle around, the ’01 Kangoo can handle most terrains due to its supple suspension.
At the café, in addition to the cars, you’ll find some new additions on the menu. These are part of Extra Menu No. 45, which is called Suzuki. To collect these items, ensure your collector level is 35 or higher.
With the latest update, three additional events for World Circuits are introduced: Sunday Cup at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit, European Clubman Cup 600 on Deep Forest Raceway Reversed, and Japanese FF Challenge 450 on Tokyo Expressway – Central Counterclockwise. Moreover, players now have the opportunity to incorporate the new location, Faroe Islands, into their Scapes.
In a nutshell, Sophy AI has evolved into GT Sophy 2.1. Though specific enhancements to its racing capabilities haven’t been disclosed yet, users can now employ Sophy in the Custom Race setting. This option extends to all tracks and layouts supported by GT Sophy, accessible through World Circuits. At present, this feature is exclusive to the PS5 version of the game.
