Gran Turismo 7 Update: New Cars and AI Upgrade You Can’t Miss!

As a dedicated Gran Turismo gamer, I’m thrilled to share that Polyphony Digital is about to drop the latest monthly update for Gran Turismo 7! This exciting patch, version 1.57, will be available on both PS5 and PS4 within the next 24 hours. Get ready for new cars, events, and an enhanced AI system named GT Sophy, all designed to ramp up your racing experience. For my fellow racers in the USA, you’ll be able to jump into the action tonight at 10pm PT, which means us Europeans will see it go live at 5am GMT tomorrow morning! Buckle up and get ready for some high-octane fun!

As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, update 1.57 introduces three new cars:

Aston Martin Vintage ’18

Despite being on the same platform as the DB11 V8, the Aston Martin Vantage boasts a shorter wheelbase and weighs 120 kg less, earning it the reputation as one of the best-handling cars in Aston Martin’s storied history. Under its hood is a Mercedes-AMG 4L V8 engine that pumps out 502 horsepower. Capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds, and with a top speed of 195 mph, this vehicle can match the pace of many supercars.

Mazda CX-30 X Smart Edition ’21

In the surge of sport utility vehicle (SUV) popularity during the 2010s, Mazda launched their CX-3 and CX-5 models. There was a noticeable size disparity between these two vehicles. To bridge this gap within their lineup, Mazda created the CX-30 – a crossover SUV. Despite its relatively small dimensions (4,395 mm long, 1,795 mm wide, and 1,540 mm tall), it showcases Mazda’s sleek, flowing ‘KODO Design’ in its exterior design.

Renault Kangoo 1.4 ’01

In France, there’s been a persistent preference for ‘fourgonnette’ type vehicles, compact commercial vans, with several popular models emerging over time. One such automobile that originated from this trend is the Renault Kangoo, introduced in 1997. While improving its efficiency as a commercial vehicle was important when designing the Kangoo, Renault also incorporated features that could potentially make it suitable for personal leisure use. These features included sliding doors for the rear passenger seats and independently adjustable separate rear seats. This dual-purpose approach worked well, and the Kangoo led the way in the ‘ludospace’ segment of leisure activity vehicles.

The update includes a new menu dedicated to Suzuki at the GT Café, along with three extra events now available in World Circuits.

  • Sunday Cup: Brands Hatch Indy Circuit
  • European Clubman Cup 600: Deep Forest Raceway Reverse
  • Japanese FF Challenge 450: Tokyo Expressway — Central Counterclockwise

One intriguing aspect of the fresh content is an enhancement to Gran Turismo 7’s advanced AI system, GT Sophy, which has been upgraded to version 2.1. Now, you can choose it as your “competitor AI in Custom Race on all GT Sophy compatible tracks and layouts within World Circuits”. This exclusive feature is accessible only on PS5.
