Grand Theft Auto 6’s second trailer is up now with a surprise drop

Approximately a week ago, Rockstar Games eased the tension for approximately half the global gaming development community, while simultaneously causing excitement among the other half, by announcing that the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 has been postponed until May 26, 2026.

Rockstar Games unveiled another surprise on Tuesday, releasing the second official teaser for Grand Theft Auto 6, which is now available to watch below.

In Grand Theft Auto 6, the story revolves around two main characters, Jason and Lucia, as they build their reputation within Vice City, a city that shares striking similarities with Leonida – a fictional stand-in for places like Miami and Florida in the United States.

As per the trailer summary, Jason and Lucia encounter difficulties after an apparently simple job turns sour, leading to potentially catastrophic events as they struggle to stay alive.

On their official site, Rockstar provides further information about the game, such as key characters like Raul, who is a bank robber by profession.

Initially scheduled for release in Fall 2025, Rockstar Games chose to delay the upcoming installment of their renowned open-world franchise until 2026. The move was reportedly intended to give the development team ample time to work without experiencing excessive overtime or crunch periods.

The shares of Take-Two Interactive, the overseeing firm of Rockstar, dropped following the announcement of a delay, yet CEO Strauss Zelnick reassured shareholders that they have complete faith in the abilities of the developers.

It appears that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, but there’s currently no plan for a Windows PC version at this time.

Historically, Rockstar Games tends to prioritize releasing their games on console systems initially, rather than the PC version, as was the case with Grand Theft Auto 5 (2013) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018). They usually make the PC port available at a later stage.
