Grandson of Former President Compares Grandma to Vice President’s Wife

Jack Schlossberg has an unusual question about his grandma.

At the 2025 Presidential Inauguration of Donald Trump, a political correspondent, who is also the grandson of late Presidents John F. Kennedy and Jack Kennedy Onassis, drew attention when he suggested comparing the beauty of his relative and Vice President JD Vance’s wife, Usha Vance.

“True or false,” Jack wrote in a Jan. 20 post on X. “Usha Vance is way hotter than Jackie O.”

In reaction to the remark, some spectators expressed disquiet, with one individual posting on X, “I’ll be straight-up here, I believe many people wouldn’t participate in attractiveness ratings that include their grandmothers.

Another added, “It’s not too late to delete this.”

Meanwhile, Jack, who is the son of Caroline Kennedy and designer Edwin Schlossberg, accepted their criticism but did not withdraw his original statement.

In a different message sent on January 20, the individual aged 32 defended himself by saying, “I’m using words literally, not in a sexual sense when I called my grandmother ‘hot.’ Am I acting strangely? Oh dear… I’ll do anything for attention. Your grandfather would be disappointed. Honestly, it’s time to find a job.

Yet, it wasn’t just rejection that greeted Jack. Some spectators perceived his query as a humorous act instead.

On X, one user expressed concern, saying “Jack, it seems like you’re getting carried away with the teasing!” In response to a question, another user playfully commented, “I’d dare say Usha Vance is more attractive than Jackie, but that’s just my opinion… I believe we can both agree that they are two extremely charming women, isn’t that correct, Jack old buddy?

Additionally, Jack appeared to view the responses to his message as playful teasing too. In response to Sam’s comment, he said, “Thanks for your perspective, Sam. I really appreciate it.

Despite the fact that not everyone may appreciate his humor, it’s worth noting that the author’s intention on the web has always been to bring a touch of lightheartedness and amusement.

He shared with Town & Country in August 2024 that if things are always serious, they become too burdensome. He believes many people are perplexed, but he feels most can comprehend his actions.

To check in on more Kennedys, read on for their complete family tree.

Joseph Patrick “Joe” Kennedy married Rose Elizabeth Fitzgerald on Oct. 7, 1914.

By 1932, my world had grown exponentially! Nine beautiful souls graced the lives of my parents – Joseph P. Kennedy Jr., John F. Kennedy, Rosemary Kennedy, Kathleen Kennedy, Eunice Kennedy, Patricia Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Jean Kennedy, and Edward Kennedy. Each one, a unique gift that would shape history in their own extraordinary ways.

Born July 25, 1915, Joe Jr. was going to be president, as far as his father was concerned.

He served as a delegate at the 1940 Democratic National Convention and intended to pursue a career in Congress upon leaving the Navy. However, tragedy struck on August 12, 1944, when he along with his co-pilot, Wilford John Willy, lost their lives. This unfortunate event occurred due to explosives they were transporting accidentally detonating during a bombing mission that was part of Operation Aphrodite.

The bodies of neither pilot were found, and their names appear on the memorial tablets for the missing at the American Cemetery and Memorial in Cambridge, which commemorates the fallen from World War II.

Born on May 29, 1917, it was John who managed to secure a seat in Congress, followed by his tenure as a U.S. senator. Eventually, he went on to be elected as the President of the United States in 1960.

On the 12th of September, 1953, he tied the knot with Jacqueline Bouvier, and they became proud parents to daughter Caroline Kennedy on the 27th of November, 1957, followed by the arrival of their son John F. Kennedy Jr. on the 25th of November, 1960.

In the year 1956, a baby girl named Arabella was tragically stillborn, while Patrick, their son, who arrived prematurely on August 7, 1963, survived for just 39 hours.

JFK was assassinated on Nov. 22, 1963, one of the defining events of the 20th century.

During the Obama presidency, Caroline served as the United States’ ambassador to Japan, while she served as the ambassador to Australia during the Biden administration. In 1986, she tied the knot with Edwin “Ed” Schlossberg.

They have three children together: Rose Kennedy Schlossberg (born June 25, 1988), Tatiana Kennedy Schlossberg (born May 5, 1990), and Jack Bouvier Kennedy Schlossberg (born Jan. 19, 1993).

TV producer Rose went to Harvard like her mom and married restaurateur Rory McAuliffe in 2022.

Back in 2014, Tatiana – a journalist who later discovered that her article about a deceased bear found in Central Park featured her cousin RFK Jr. as a source – graduated from Yale University and tied the knot with college sweetheart George Moran in 2017. Their little bundle of joy, Edwin Jr., came into this world in 2022.

Jack, an alumnus from Yale and a graduate of the combined JD/MBA program at Harvard, who’s known for his entertaining posts on social media, delivered a speech at the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Currently, he serves as a political commentator for Vogue.

Back in 1988, they crowned me as People’s Sexiest Man Alive, a title I still proudly carry. Before I tied the knot with the graceful Carolyn Bessette, a renowned Calvin Klein publicist, on September 21, 1996, I was known as one of the most sought-after bachelors in the universe. As an ardent fan, I can’t help but reminisce about those days!

Tragically, John F. Kennedy Jr., who was frequently mourned by his family, passed away prematurely, much like his father. His life, full of promise, ended abruptly when he, along with Carolyn and her sister Lauren Bessette, lost their lives in a plane crash on July 16, 1999.

In an unfortunate turn of events that deeply saddened his family, who had already experienced much sorrow, John F. Kennedy Jr. died young, mirroring his father’s fate. His life, brimming with potential, was tragically cut short in a plane crash on July 16, 1999, taking the lives of not only him, but also Carolyn and her sister Lauren Bessette.

Rosemary (at right, with sister Kathleen and mom Rose) was born Sept. 13, 1918.

At a boarding school designed for those facing learning challenges, Rosemary struggled with behavior problems. When she turned 23, these issues prompted her father to arrange for a prefrontal lobotomy.

After undergoing the experimental treatment, which was believed to be a possible remedy for mental illness and Joe had high hopes for, Rosemary ended up severely handicapped and spent the remainder of her life (living until January 7, 2005) in an institution.

Years later, Rose shared with historian Doris Kearns Goodwin that she had always assumed she could lead a life like a Kennedy woman, merely at a more leisurely pace. However, it all vanished within just a few minutes.

Born Feb. 20, 1920, Kathleen got a kick out of life, hence her jaunty nickname.

On May 6, 1944, she got married in a civil ceremony in London to William Cavendish, also known as the Marquess of Hartington. However, this union went against her mother’s wishes because her partner was not Catholic. In fact, only her brother Joe Jr. was present at their wedding as no other family member chose to attend.

A month later, William, a major in the British Army, was killed by a sniper in Belgium.

She stayed in England and developed feelings for William Wentworth-Fitzwilliam, the 8th Earl Fitzwilliam, who was still married at the time. Unfortunately, before they could finalize a divorce, a plane carrying them to the French Riviera crashed on May 13, 1948, taking both their lives.

Eunice was born July 10, 1921.

The dedicated philanthropist and creator of the Special Olympics tied the knot with Robert Sargent Shriver Jr. on May 23, 1953.

The Shrivers were blessed with five children: Robert “Bobby” Shriver III (born on April 28, 1954), Maria Shriver (born November 6, 1955), Timothy (born August 29, 1959), Mark (born February 17, 1964), and Anthony (born July 20, 1965).

At the age of 88, Eunice had a total of 19 grandchildren. Among them were Katherine (born on December 13, 1989), Patrick (born on September 18, 1993), Christina (born on July 23, 1991), and Christopher (born on September 27, 1997). These four grandchildren are the offspring of Maria and her former husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’d like to share an intriguing snippet from our nation’s past: On a sunlit June day in 1950, I was, in fact, Bobby Kennedy, who was widely recognized across the land, exchanging vows with Ethel Skakel. A truly memorable moment in history that marked the beginning of a beautiful journey together.

They ended up having eleven kids: Kathleen, Joseph the Second, Robert Junior, David, Courtney, Michael, Kerry, Christopher, Maxwell, Douglas, and Rory.

Ethel was carrying Rory at the time Bobby was tragically killed on June 6, 1968, just after he won the California Democratic primary.

David Kennedy, aged 28, passed away due to a drug overdose on the 25th of April, 1984. Michael Kennedy, age 37, tragically lost his life on December 31, 1997, after colliding with a tree while skiing and also playing catch with a football during a family vacation in Aspen, Colorado. He was married to Victoria Gifford and together they had three children.

I’ve been a devoted admirer, and it’s heartbreaking to share the story of Ethel Kennedy. Losing her partner when their oldest was just 16, she became a grandmother to 34. Tragically, two of these grandchildren were taken too soon. Saoirse Hill, daughter of Paul Hill, passed away in 2019 from an unintended drug overdose at the tender age of 22. And more recently, Maeve Kennedy McKean, daughter of Kathleen and David Townsend, lost her life in a canoeing accident in 2020 at the age of 40. These losses have left a deep void in our collective hearts.

RFK Jr., born Jan. 17, 1954, is a thrice-married father of six.

He has a son, Robert Francis “Bobby” Kennedy III (born in 1984), and a daughter, Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy (born in 1988), whom he shares with his former spouse Emily Black.

They divorced in 1994 after 12 years of marriage.

RFK III has been married to CIA analyst turned author and TV host Amaryllis Fox since 2017.

In my personal narrative, I am blessed to be connected through shared parenthood with Bobby, born on the 7th of January, 2019, and Cassius Watts Thoreau Kennedy, who made his arrival on the 30th of August, 2021. Additionally, I have the privilege of co-parenting Zoë, Amaryllis’ daughter from a past relationship.

In simpler terms, the Stanford graduate expressed in 2012 to Town & Country that life is essentially a compilation of various experiences, some pleasant and some challenging, and the greater the number of these experiences one gathers, the richer their life becomes.

In brief encounters with Ben Affleck, as described by a source, led to Kick Kennedy becoming a popular topic on social media trends in August 2024, following Jennifer Lopez’s divorce filing from the actor.

Affleck’s representative swiftly dismissed rumors of a romantic involvement when they told TopMob News, “All reports about him and Kick are false.

So nothing about being a Kennedy had really changed in a decade. Or a century.

She shared with T&C that people often ask her, “What’s it like being a Kennedy?” To which she replied, “Perhaps it’s the chill of the water, but I find myself saying, ‘I truly don’t know.’ When I spot my face or name in the tabloids, I feel a knot in my stomach. It’s just not authentic—it’s like reading something that’s not true about me.

Yet, even though her great aunt passed away two years prior to when her father was born, she still had a deep connection or resemblance to the aunt she was named after.

“It’s funny how similar we are,” Kick mused. “She was fun and social and a performer in many ways.”

In the year 1994, RFK Jr. exchanged vows with Mary Richardson. Together, they welcomed four offspring: Conor Richardson Kennedy (born July 25), Kyra LeMoyne Kennedy (August 22), William Finbar “Finn” Kennedy (November 8), and Aidan Caohman Vieques Kennedy (July 13).

The couple were legally separated when Mary died by suicide in 2012.

Father and sons: Conor, Aidan and RFK III.

Conor has kept a relatively quiet public presence, with his notable activism and achievements set aside, following his sudden rise to fame at age 18 as a Harvard student. Notably, he introduced Taylor Swift to his family after bringing her home.

In the whirlwind of a brief yet passionate chapter in our shared story, I – a heartbroken admirer – couldn’t help but follow Conor’s journey. Although our love story was fleeting, it left an indelible mark on me. Time passed, and as I stood by, I bore witness to the milestones he achieved: his graduation from the prestigious Georgetown Law School. Yet, those headlines will forever remain etched in my memory – a testament to our past, and a beacon of hope that maybe, just maybe, love could indeed transcend time and space.

“Taylor Swift’s ex Conor Kennedy” is now engaged to singer Giulia Be.

Kyra, a regular among the high-fashion set, lives in Milan.

In a video shared on August 27, 2024, in collaboration with Elle and Bvlgari, she mentioned that she is currently engaged in a tribute project for her deceased mother.

In the video, she wonders if she’s gone through a renewal in her life. Indeed, I can confirm that she has. When I first knew her as a child, she was a completely different individual. But as she grew into adulthood, she transformed dramatically.

RFK Jr. married Curb Your Enthusiasm star Cheryl Hines in 2014.

The actress shares daughter Catherine Young (born March 8, 2004) with ex-husband Paul Young

On Instagram in 2018, Kick expressed her gratitude to her father by saying, “I appreciate you for gifting me such a fun-loving family with all those quirky siblings!

Ethel Kennedy, along with Robert F. Kennedy, has a son who is their seventh child. This son has three daughters – twin girls Mariah Kennedy-Cuomo and Cara Kennedy Cuomo (born in 1995) and Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo (born in 1997) – with his former spouse, Andrew Cuomo.

Kerry and Andrew, the former New York governor (2011-2021), got married in 1990 but split up in 2003, eventually finalizing their divorce in 2005.

Senator Ted Kennedy, who seemed to outshine even 90% of his family in terms of scandal, had three children with his first wife Joan Bennett: Kara Kennedy (born February 27, 1960), Edward Kennedy Jr. (Septemer 26, 1961), and Patrick Kennedy II (July 14, 1967).

He and Joan divorced in 1982 after 24 years of marriage and he wed Victoria Reggie in 1992.

Kara suffered a fatal heart attack on Sept. 16, 2011, two years after her father died.
