Gravity Falls Creator Stands With Animation Guild Ahead of Guild Negotiations

As a dedicated fan of Gravity Falls, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia mixed with anticipation when it comes to this remarkable animated series. The world that Alex Hirsch created is not only captivatingly unique but also deeply heartwarming, making it a beloved cult classic even years after its final episode aired.

Gravity Falls stands out for its one-of-a-kind and imaginative narrative, earning it a devoted cult following even after wrapping up in 2016. The animated series skillfully combined the supernatural with a warm, family-oriented atmosphere while chronicling the adventures of Mabel, Dipper, and their eccentric “Grunkle” Stan. Recently, Alex Hirsch, the creator of Gravity Falls, voiced his backing for animation workers on his social media platform as contract talks between animators and studios get underway.

Hirsch posted these thoughts about the recent Animation Guild rally: “Animation workers are struggling financially while CEOs rake in billions from their labor. It’s high time we unite and call for fair treatment for the talented individuals who bring our favorite worlds and characters to life. I’ll be at the #StandWithAnimationRally tomorrow, will you?”

In simpler terms, animation workers are struggling financially while their bosses rake in huge profits. It’s high time we join forces and advocate for a fair compensation for the talented individuals who bring our cherished stories and characters to life. I’ll be at the #StandWithAnimationRally tomorrow – will you? 😊

Although no official news is out yet about a new series set in the universe of Gravity Falls, there have been talks about it according to Disney executives. Meredith Roberts, Executive Vice President of Television Animation and Disney Branded Television, mentioned that discussions are ongoing with creator Alex Hirsch regarding a revival of the franchise. Here’s what Roberts shared about her conversations with the “father” of Gravity Falls: “You know, we’re in conversations with Alex. He’s about to release a book with Disney on his project. And we also plan to produce some shorts. So never say never.”

If you’re not already familiar with the story of Mabel and Dipper, you can catch up by streaming the series ‘Gravity Falls’ on Disney+. According to the streaming service, this beloved animated show follows the adventures of twin siblings Dipper and Mabel Pines who are sent to spend their summer vacation in Gravity Falls, Oregon with their great uncle (Grunkle) Stan.
