As an avid fan of heartwarming love stories and the Mathis Family Matters clan, I can’t help but feel like I’ve just witnessed the most beautiful chapter unfold before my eyes! Greg Mathis Jr.’s and Elliott Cooper’s wedding was a truly magical event that brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart.

Greg Mathis Jr. and Elliott Cooper are now each other’s forever family.

On October 21, in a small, private wedding ceremony held in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the star of Mathis Family Matters and his long-term partner exchanged vows, officially tying the knot with their closest family members present.

In their joint Instagram post on their wedding day, Greg and Elliott expressed their heartfelt gratitude for your love and encouragement as they journeyed from Washington, D.C., to Mathis Family Matters, and now are beginning their family life in Los Angeles. Your support is truly invaluable!

As for me, at age 35 (Greg) and 40 (Elliott), who crossed paths in 2016, crafting our wedding into a memorable family vacation was of utmost significance to us.

In a recent interview with People, published on October 23rd, Elliott shared: “For Greg and me, family has always been a crucial bond that strengthened our relationship from the start.” He emphasized that family matters greatly to both of them because they know their love is unconditional and devoid of any obligations or expectations. Simply put, it’s a connection based on pure affection.

Additionally, they incorporated their loved ones into the special day, with Greg Mathis Sr., who is a judge, and Calvin Cooper, a sergeant, officiating their wedding ceremony.

Since my father, a well-known judge, has presided over countless weddings due to his profession, I’ve often pictured him conducting my own wedding. I’ve attended many weddings across the country and have developed an image of what mine would be like with him officiating. So, when I think about marrying someone, I hope they’re comfortable with that idea, because I want my father to perform our ceremony.

He continued, “And Elliot’s dad is actually in law enforcement too, which is funny. It’s a note about us that we always laugh about.”

Besides wanting to tie the knot at a place close to their hearts, Greg and Elliott opted for Cabo because it was where their romantic journey began – it was the destination of their initial getaway together, a surprise trip that Elliott had arranged for Greg’s birthday.

As the couple ponders over their memorable occasion, they found themselves swept up in the intensity of it all.

Without a doubt, this moment feels like a long-held aspiration realized, Greg exclaimed, though he acknowledged the sentiment might seem cliche, it truly is. Everything about it aligns perfectly with my deepest desires.

In the spirit of our grand day, the festivities aren’t stopping just yet. We, the newlyweds, have something even more spectacular planned – a grand celebration in the vibrant city of Los Angeles. Beyond that, we are eagerly anticipating and preparing for what lies ahead in our shared future.

Elliott mentioned that the upcoming phase will mainly focus on children, and then they plan to keep growing together.

Viewers of the show “Mathis Family Matters” were privileged to witness the growth of Greg and Elliott’s relationship. This series focused on the lives of Greg, his father, mother Linda Mathis, and siblings Jade, Camara, and Amir.

In the final episode of the series, Elliott went down on one knee to pose an extremely crucial question to Greg.

Elliott reflected on the length of their shared journey, “We’ve had quite some time together, facing many challenges along the way. I wouldn’t be standing here without your presence, which is why I feel compelled to ask, would you consider moving to Los Angeles with me?

Greg’s family burst into laughter as he gave an enthusiastic, “I sure will!”
