Grey’s Anatomy Favorite Appearing in More Episodes in Season 21

As a seasoned gamer of life with over two decades under my belt, I must say that the latest news from the TV world has me more excited than clearing the final boss level in my favorite RPG. The return of Scott Speedman to Grey’s Anatomy for not just a cameo, but a substantial run, has me feeling like Meredith herself – ready to dive headfirst into another rollercoaster of emotions.

Fan-loved actor Scott Speedman, known for his role on “Grey’s Anatomy,” is coming back for Season 21, as reported by Deadline. This season, Speedman will appear in more episodes than he did in Season 20 – five to be exact, compared to the four he appeared in last season. Additionally, it has been announced that Ellen Pompeo, who plays Meredith Grey, will also be back for more episodes this season, with a minimum of seven appearances.

Initially, Speedman made his debut on “Grey’s Anatomy” during Season 14 in a guest role. Later, starting from Season 18, he became a regular cast member. Since then, he has been seen frequently, portraying Meredith’s fluctuating love interest. In the final episode of Season 20, it seemed as though their relationship could be more stable than turbulent, with Meredith disclosing that she had submitted an offer for a house where they could potentially establish a life together.

Other Cast Updates Are in Store for Season 21

Apart from the return of Speedman for several episodes in Season 21, it has been revealed that Michael Thomas Grant, known for his role in Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, has been chosen to play James, a new, openly gay chaplain at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in the upcoming season 21 of Grey’s Anatomy. According to the news, “James is the hospital’s only openly gay Episcopal chaplain, and he has a soft spot for his younger patients. His kindness, training, and spirituality make him at ease in any circumstance. In his personal life, James finds himself at a crucial juncture where he is open to love and ready to take significant risks of faith.” Grant’s character will be introduced in the second episode of the season.

I, Grant, am thrilled to be part of the Grey’s Anatomy family, stepping into the shoes left by Jake Borelli and Midori Francis, who brilliantly portrayed LGBTQ+ characters in their roles. Jake, as Dr. Levi Schmitt, joined the cast during Season 14, while Midori, playing Dr. Mika Yasuda, came on board in Season 19. In the Season 20 finale, Levi found himself reevaluating his future plans when his dream of a pediatrics fellowship slipped away due to a disappointing test score. As for me and the other newcomers, we joined the team of interns at Grey Sloan in Season 19, ready to make our mark on one of television’s most iconic medical dramas.

Excitingly, I’m rejoining the crew of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital as Ben Warren in the hit series, Grey’s Anatomy. Previously, I played this role on the long-running medical drama before moving to Station 19. Unfortunately, that firefighting spin-off wrapped up earlier this year, but it looks like Ben’s story isn’t over yet! The finale of Station 19 set the stage for my return to Grey Sloan Memorial. Plus, I hinted at a possible comeback and mentioned there were untold tales between my character and Miranda Bailey (played by Chandra Wilson) waiting to be explored. Can’t wait to dive back into the world of Grey’s Anatomy!

George remarked, “I believe there’s more to the tale of Ben-Bailey, or Benley, to share.” It could very well be so. Perhaps there are untold stories waiting to be discovered through dialogues.
