As a long-time fan of Drinkbox Studios and their unique, creative game designs, I can hardly contain my excitement for their upcoming, as-yet-unrevealed project! Their track record speaks for itself; from Guacamelee to Nobody Saves the World, they’ve consistently delivered engaging, innovative titles that push the boundaries of genre expectations.
As a gamer, I’ve been blown away by the plethora of massive game launches and updates in 2024. Yet, amidst all the buzz, some developers have been working stealthily on their next masterpieces. One such studio is Drinkbox Studios, known for creating the beloved ‘Guacamelee’. And yes, they’ve confirmed that a fresh, new game is under development!
Despite not being able to disclose a lot of details just yet, there’s plenty of excitement building up, and the team is eager to share more once they can. Fortunately for fans, they won’t have to wait too long as Drinkbox Studios plans to unveil additional information in 2025.
The latest game by this developer, titled “Nobody Saves the World,” is an action RPG where you play as Nobody, a character who can swap between various classes that get increasingly bizarre as the game progresses. It was released in 2022 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5. The “Frozen Hearth” expansion pack also came out in the same year.
In January 2023, the latest update introduced the Impossible Dungeon. Given this, it’s likely that the team has been developing their next project since then, but we can’t predict its genre just yet. Keep an eye out for further announcements in the upcoming months.
