Atomfall Guide: Essential Tips
To help you understand the kind of game Atomfall is and enjoy it more during your initial playtime, here are some suggestions and advice we’d like to offer.
There’s No Need to Preserve Ammo, Health, and Resources
Although Atomfall is marketed by Rebellion as an “action-survival” game, it leans more towards the “action” side and not so much the “survival.” In this game, players won’t have to concern themselves with hunger, thirst, or sleep meters. Resources are abundant, ensuring that you’ll never feel the need to conserve ammunition, healing items, or crafting resources because there will always be more available elsewhere. Feel free to use them as needed.
Look Out for Pneumatic Dispatch Tubes
As a fan of this game, one of the survival-like challenges I often face is managing my limited inventory. Apart from just tossing away items I no longer require, another effective method to organize my belongings is by utilizing the Pneumatic Dispatch Tubes. Essentially, these serve as a storage solution, enabling me to securely stash important items in them for future use. The beauty of these tubes is that whatever I store in one will be accessible from any other tube across the game world.
Make a Plan Before Combat Encounters
Before engaging in combat with any faction within the game, double-check that your weapons and supplies are correctly mapped to your D-Pad controls. This is crucial because the game does not pause when you open your inventory. Any actions, such as crafting items or switching weapons, will continue around you, increasing the likelihood of being killed. Thus, it’s essential to be well-prepared before initiating any conflict and alerting enemies to your presence.
Training Stimulants Are How You Get Upgrades
In Atomfall, there’s an entire section of the menu devoted to character improvements, but don’t expect to frequently access it or upgrade your character like in typical games. That’s because enhancements in this game are earned through hard work, and you even need to acquire the privilege to purchase them first.
In simple terms, Training Manuals provide the blueprint for upgrades, while Training Stimulants are what you use to completely activate them. Since both items are scarce, it’s essential to keep a keen eye out for them, particularly within bunkers.
You’ll Need Protection Against Radiation
To avoid revealing story secrets, let me just say that if you find a method for making something resistant to radiation within the game’s Leads system, it would definitely be wise to pursue it and obtain the related item or enhancement. Trust me, it will prove useful in the future.
