Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, Knives Out 3 & Happy Gilmore 2: Biggest Netflix Tudum Reveals!

During the weekend, Netflix hosted its 2025 Tudum event live at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. A star-studded lineup graced the stage to unveil news, sneak peeks, and release dates for some of their most anticipated upcoming movies and TV series on the platform. Television enthusiasts were showered with numerous updates about popular shows such as “Stranger Things”, “Wednesday”, and “Squid Game”. However, movie buffs weren’t left out either, as they were presented with thrilling revelations. Here are three new movie trailers along with their 2025 release dates that were unveiled at Netflix’s Tudum event.

“Frankenstein”

The highlight of the night was when Guillermo del Toro unveiled the first sneak peek of his long-awaited reimagining of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein”. True to form, del Toro has gathered a top-notch ensemble featuring actors like Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Ralph Ineson, David Bradley, Charles Dance, and Lars Mikkelsen. This initial trailer promises everything we fans of the director are eager for – it showcases del Toro’s unique visual flair and mastery of mood while staying faithful to the original Shelley story. “Frankenstein” is slated for release in November, and it certainly looks to be worth the anticipation.

“Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery”

Rian Johnson, the writer-director, unveiled our initial glimpse of the third part in his “Knives Out” franchise titled “Wake Up Dead Man”. This new installment features Daniel Craig reprising his role as private detective Benoit Blanc and boasts an impressive cast: Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church. A spin-off from the 2022 film “Glass Onion”, this movie promises to present another intriguing ensemble and a distinctly different atmosphere compared to its previous versions, while retaining the essence of a classic whodunit mystery. “Wake Up Dead Man” is set to hit theaters on December 12th.

“Happy Gilmore 2”

A few months back, we caught our first glimpse of “Happy Gilmore 2”. More recently, Netflix unveiled its initial full trailer at Tudum. Although some people have a sentimental bond with the original 1996 film “Happy Gilmore”, I personally don’t share that sentiment. Consequently, my feelings towards the “Happy Gilmore 2” trailer might not be as enthusiastic as others’. Frankly, it seems like another typical Adam Sandler production with the same humor and an abundance of appearances from his acquaintances. If you’re a dedicated Sandler fan, however, this movie is likely on your must-watch list. For everyone else, we’ll have to wait and see. “Happy Gilmore 2” hits Netflix on July 25th.
