It appears that the studio responsible for hits like Gundam and Code Geass is set to release a new Isekai anime titled My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s, which will make its official debut this Fall. In recent times, the Isekai genre has seen a resurgence with fresh perspectives on the beloved light novel subgenre. However, with so many Isekai anime being produced annually, we are now seeing a return to more conventional storylines set in new fantasy realms.
The acclaimed anime adaptation of “My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s,” a series initially published as light novels by Matsuri Akai and Tozai in 2017, is set to premiere later this October. Notable director Noboyoshi Habara will lead the project under Sunrise (co-produced by TMS Entertainment), with Kunihiko Okada handling the scriptwriting, Hirona Okada and Kaori Saito designing the characters, Masahiro Yamane creating the monsters, and Satoshi Igarashi composing the music.
