In an interview with Vanity Fair, published on March 18th, Gwyneth Paltrow, aged 52, stated, “Well, fantastic. I’m 109 years old here, and you’re just 14.” She also mentioned, “There is a considerable amount of intimate scenes in this film.
In this movie, where there was a lot of on-screen closeness, the actors received assistance from professionals off-camera – a first for the seasoned Hollywood actor.
She continued, “I just learned that there’s a role called an ‘intimacy coordinator’ which I wasn’t aware of before.
In her own words, the creator of Goop (a company she founded) recounted an instance where she disagreed with the intimacy consultant on a movie set about the arrangement of a particular scene’s choreography, which she found objectionable. This disagreement stemmed from her sharing children Apple Martin (age 20) and Moses Martin (age 18) with her former partner, Chris Martin.
Gwyneth stated, ‘In my time, if a woman disrobed and climbed into bed with the camera rolling, that was how it was.’ She continued, ‘We decided, I believe, that enough had been captured. You could step away a bit now.’
She went on to say, “For artists such as myself, it feels restrictive when someone specifies exact movements like, ‘He’ll place his hand here,’ especially for those just starting out.
Reflecting on my recent experience with the project, marking my return to acting since 2019, I must say that Timothée truly earned my admiration. He’s not just a handsome face; he’s a “thinking man’s sex symbol,” as I like to put it.
In my perspective, he’s incredibly well-mannered and clearly brought up with great care. Initially, I might have referred to him as a ‘young man,’ but he possesses such maturity and dedication to his tasks that it’s hard not to consider him a grown individual. He also makes work enjoyable and is delightful to collaborate with.
