Gypsy Rose Blanchard Reveals Sex of Her and Ken Urker's First Baby

In an announcement made on August 10th, the leading actress from the Lifetime docuseries titled “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up” revealed that she and her partner, Ken Urker, are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby girl.

At Instagram, Gypsy posted a picture taken at their gender-reveal party, a joyous occasion following the bursting of a balloon containing pink confetti. Additionally, she shared a video of herself and her partner addressing words of love to their upcoming baby, their first child together.

“Sweetie, I’m your mom,” the 33-year-old said, while her partner added, “I’m your dad.”

The two then said in unison, “And you are a girl.”

Instead, Gypsy shared a picture showing the duo rejoicing following the bursting of a balloon brimming with delicate, light pink confetti.

“At long last, here it is… A baby girl has arrived! Ken and I are absolutely thrilled and can’t wait to embark on this family journey. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to friends, neighbors, and family members who celebrated with us today. And a big thank you to each of you for your love and encouragement!”

The influencer mentioned last month that she’s now 16 weeks into her unplanned pregnancy, which she disclosed back in July. She’s expected to deliver in January 2025.

Three months following their romantic reunion, Gypsy publicly revealed her pregnancy, having been engaged to Ken before. Earlier, they had a two-year relationship while she was incarcerated due to her involvement in the 2015 murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, following years of abuse.

In an interview on Good Morning America in July, Blanchard acknowledged that given her past, some people might question whether she should be a mother or care for children. However, she is aware of her imperfections and acknowledges that she has made mistakes in the past, and she expects to make minor errors in the future as well.

She added, “Yet, I’m well aware of the difference between right and wrong. Growing wiser by reflecting on past errors is part of maturing over time.”

Clarifying matters about her family life, Gypsy asserted that it’s Ken, not her former partner, who is the father of her newborn child. This statement was made to dispel rumors and misunderstandings regarding her relationships.

She clarified on her July 12 interview with Good Morning America that it was around mid-March when she parted ways with Ryan. Consequently, there has been no doubt about Ken being the father; the question of paternity was never an issue at all.

Gypsy also expressed her hopes about motherhood.

“She put it simply: ‘There’s a small, delicate life growing within you – it’s your own tiny human being. It’s my hope that you’ll nurture, cherish, and care for it as the mother I never had. All the love, protection, and care I craved in my childhood, I want to extend to this baby.'”
