Haikyu Creator Hypes the Anime's Movie Comeback With New Art

As a gamer who’s lived through countless anime seasons, I can confidently say that Haikyu has been a standout in the volleyball-themed genre for quite some time now. The way Haruichi Furudate breathes life into his characters and their passionate matches is truly remarkable. The latest movie, “Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle”, has been nothing short of exhilarating, and I’m eagerly awaiting its re-release as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations.

Haikyu is preparing to mark a decade of its popular anime series, with the original creator releasing exclusive artwork featuring Shoyo Hinata and Kenma Kozume for the re-release of the latest movie. Though the manga version may have concluded, the franchise remains thriving due to ongoing adaptations in the anime. In addition, the anime franchise is also approaching its own conclusion, with the first of two final feature films receiving widespread acclaim from fans since its release.

As a long-time fan of Haikyu!!, I was thrilled to learn that “The Dumpster Battle” made its way to the big screen earlier this year and is now getting a re-release in Japan for the anime’s 10th anniversary. The excitement doesn’t stop there, though! To celebrate the movie’s success at the box office and upcoming re-release, creator Haruichi Furudate gifted fans with a special new sketch featuring Shoyo and Kenma after their epic Nationals match. Having followed the series since its inception, it was heartwarming to see this thoughtful gesture from the author, acknowledging the dedicated fanbase that made Haikyu!! such a hit. I’m eagerly looking forward to catching the re-release and checking out the new sketch on the franchise’s official social media!

Wow! Can’t believe I just witnessed that epic performance! #UnforgettableShow #AmazingArtist

How to Watch Haikyu

Haikyu will carry on commemorating its 10th anniversary with a fresh special event happening in Japan next March, where fans can expect to see the whole franchise one last time, glancing forward at what’s to come. With the second part of the final film series still to be released, it’s almost the end. The release date for the latest movie is yet to be revealed, but Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have hinted at the tale of Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle.

Shoyo Hinata decides to join the volleyball team at Karasuno High School with dreams of emulating his hero, a past player of the school who was famously called the ‘Little Giant.’ However, an unexpected twist arises when he learns that he’ll be partnering with his middle school adversary, Tobio Kageyama. Despite their contrasting techniques, they eventually discover that their differences create a powerful combination. The challenge now lies in overcoming their fierce rivals from Nekoma High School in the much-anticipated ‘Dumpster Battle,’ a legendary face-off between two underdog teams eager to prove themselves.

If you’re interested in watching the original TV series of “Haikyu!!” before catching the first movie of its two-part finale, you can stream it right now on Crunchyroll. However, a release date or window for the second and final film hasn’t been disclosed yet.
