Hailey Bieber Sells Rhode to e.l.f. Beauty for $1 Billion

In a press release dated May 28th, it was confirmed that the 28-year-old entrepreneur has successfully sold her Rhode Skin company to e.l.f. Beauty for an impressive $1 billion, marking a significant milestone in the cosmetics industry.

The transaction involves $800 million in cash and shares being given to Rhode’s owners – including CEO Nick Vlahos, Bieber, and cofounders Lauren Ratner and Michael D. Ratner – at the completion of the deal. Furthermore, there is an extra potential earnout of $200 million depending on the growth of the brand over a three-year period, as stated in the announcement.

After the recent announcement, I, as the dedicated follower of my skincare brand Rhode, found myself reflecting on all that we’ve accomplished since its launch in 2022. My role as Chief Creative Officer and Head of Innovation will remain unchanged, while I also take on the position of a strategic advisor for e.l.f. The partnership with e.l.f. feels like an excellent match, and I am excited about what we can achieve together.

In her May 28 Instagram post, Hailey expressed that she’s always harbored grand ambitions for the company. What truly matters to her is expanding Rhode’s reach in various global locations, faces, and spaces. With great enthusiasm and pride, she’s thrilled to reveal that we’re collaborating with e.l.f. Beauty as we venture into a new phase of Rhode’s journey on the world stage.

The model expressed her excitement and inspiration, stating that the makeup brand shares similar values as a forward-thinking innovator who champions bold concepts, much like herself.

Additionally, Lauren echoed this feeling in her Instagram post on May 28th, where she expressed that the past five years of building Rhode have been among the most rewarding experiences of hers.

Regarding e.l.f., the cosmetics brand revealed their ambitious goals, reaching new levels, through their partnership with Rhode.

According to a statement, Tarang Amin, Chairman and CEO of e.l.f. Beauty, expressed enthusiasm about Rhode’s capacity to shatter beauty norms, perfectly reflecting e.l.f. Beauty’s mission to establish a unique type of company. He described Rhode as an enchanting brand that he believes is primed for extraordinary expansion.

A YouTube content creator based in Minnesota earned approximately $193,000 on the platform OnlyFans between January 2020 and December 2022, as revealed in an article published on Medium.

According to The Really Good Podcast in 2023, a content creator made $50,000 from just one sponsored video.

In 2023, the advocate for people with chronic illnesses shared with OpenWage (Salary Transparency Street) that her annual income is approximately $150,000, despite having fewer than 40,000 followers on Instagram.

As a die-hard admirer, I’d happily confess that I’ve learned from the comedy guru himself, on Salary Transparency Street, that he demands a cool five to ten grand for each sponsored video he creates! Wow, that’s some serious dough!

The YouTube content creator disclosed that she earned approximately $4,746.94 through platform monetization between August 2023 and January 2024, based on a total of 923,700 video views, and she had fewer than 30,000 subscribers.
