Warning: This story discusses allegations of domestic violence and emotional abuse.
Halle Bailey has taken steps to protect her son Halo.
Besides securing a temporary restraining order against her ex-partner Daryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., commonly known as DDG, on May 13, the actress from The Little Mermaid was additionally granted sole physical and legal guardianship of their 16-month-old child until a court hearing scheduled for June 4. She has since petitioned the court to award her full custody of their son in the future.
Due to the current restraining order, DDG must maintain a distance of at least 100 yards from both Halle and Halo, encompassing their home and vehicles. He’s also prohibited from directly communicating with the actress from “The Color Purple.” Furthermore, the rapper known for “Moonwalking in Calabasas” is disallowed any contact with Halo until a future court ruling.
Following the termination of her two-year relationship with DDG in October, Halle was granted a protective order due to the rapper’s alleged history of physical and verbal abuse, unauthorized access to her personal belongings, and noncompliance with co-parenting responsibilities. As a result of this court ruling, DDG is now prohibited from applying for passports or other travel documents.
TopMob News has reached out to DDG’s rep for comment and has not yet heard back.
In Halle’s application for a restraining order and custody, she detailed several purported conflicts with DDG. She claimed that in one such incident from January, he forcefully pushed her head against the steering wheel of his car while she was assisting him in buckling Halo into the vehicle, resulting in bruises on her arm and a chipped tooth. Photographs of these injuries were provided as evidence in the documents.
In my own words, I chose to no longer defend myself due to the intense discomfort I was experiencing. In another part of my account, I expressed that Darryl seems oblivious to the repercussions of his actions on Halo. He frequently speaks harshly to me in Halo’s presence.
In other instances, Halle recounted receiving a “menacing message” from DDG in March, following claims that he had entered her home when she wasn’t present. A short while later, it’s said he confined the actress to the outside of her house, took her phone, and departed with it before discarding it out of his car window.
As a devoted fan, I’m eagerly awaiting the upcoming court appearance of Halle and DDG, scheduled for June 4th. In the meantime, let’s revisit their two-year romantic journey by delving into some intriguing recollections.
