Halle Bailey’s Ex Accuses Her of Keeping Him From Son

DDG is trying to be a present father.

Several months have passed since rapper Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. and his ex-partner Halle Bailey publicly announced their separation in October. More recently, he has claimed that Halle is preventing him from seeing their 15-month-old son, Halo.

In simpler terms, DDG expressed during a live stream on YouTube (March 8), “I don’t want the situation to escalate to where he might say, ‘Well, my dad isn’t here,’ which is something I really want to avoid. My main concern was feeling frustrated and annoyed rather than anything else.

In simpler terms, during the song he released prior to the livestream, DDG highlighted his challenging custody situation. He stressed that expressing this back-and-forth dynamic through music was essentially his sole method of communication.

He mentioned that he’s faced this difficult situation for quite some time now. He hadn’t shared it before because he prefers to keep his personal matters private, but he felt that he was at a loss and needed to speak up.

In the tune called “Don’t Take My Son,” he expressed his feelings through lines such as:

– Don’t seize my son,
He’s all I own,
Struggling to make them let me visit him,
That will really upset me.

Despite their separation, the 27-year-old, who parted ways with Halle in October following more than a year together, made it clear that he has no intention of pursuing legal action regarding the custody issue.

He stated during the live broadcast that he prefers avoiding court. He believes it could become very complicated without necessity, and he thinks it would be best for her as well if we could arrive at a mutually understandable resolution outside of court.

Instead, DDG suggested that if the couple were to take their custody dispute to court, he might be granted more time with his son than he is currently requesting.

He mentioned that he would be appearing in court, where the judge will likely grant him some freedom. Once he receives this freedom, he plans to make decisions about his son as he pleases.

However, despite potentially being advantageous for him, DDG feels that this choice might not be ideal for the ex-couple. As for Halle, she prefers to avoid court proceedings because it could cause her distress.

Regarding Halle, she had earlier criticized DDG for streaming their newborn on his live stream not long after the split between them.

Halle, aged 25, expressed disapproval in a November post on X (before deactivating her account), stating, “My baby won’t be attending a live stream tonight. I wasn’t informed or notified and I am deeply upset to find my child exposed to millions of people.

She continued, “I am his mother and protector and saddened that I wasn’t notified.”

TopMob News has contacted representatives for Halle about DDG’s recent remarks, but we haven’t received a response yet.
