343 Industries, now recognized as Halo Studios, is whispered to be progressing sufficiently on a fresh “Halo” game that it’s started playtesting. It was previously known that several games in the series are under development, thanks to an October report. However, the recent whispers suggest that the development of these titles has advanced enough for weekly playtesting.
Based on information from Rebs Gaming’s report, Halo Studios has created a substantial testing area within its studio. This area is used regularly to test games, and it serves not only as a platform for ongoing development of new projects but also as a means to integrate new team members into the workflow. During these tests, fresh maps are being designed and assessed for an upcoming Halo game.
During game development, playtesting by studios is quite usual. However, the fact that Halo Studios is focusing on playtesting in a new way suggests they are putting greater emphasis on the design and testing of their upcoming projects.
343 Industries unveiled its decision to transform into Halo Studios back in October. As stated by studio head Pierre Hintze, this rebranding signifies a fresh start for the Halo series, and Halo Studios aims to revolutionize the formula for creating Halo video games moving forward.
As a dedicated Halo fan and gamer, I’m thrilled to share that back in October, Halo Studios officially confirmed they were cooking up more than one Halo game! They also unveiled an exciting revelation – all future Halo titles will be developed using Unreal Engine 5.
Over the last couple of years, the studio has been secretly working on a cutting-edge project called Project Foundry. The shift to Unreal Engine 5 enables them to simultaneously work on multiple new gaming experiences, which is a game-changer for us fans!
As a die-hard Halo fan, I can’t help but get excited by the whispers of potential new projects from Halo Studios! While they haven’t made it official yet, there have been hints that one of these upcoming projects could be a refreshed version of the original masterpiece, “Halo: Combat Evolved.” This isn’t the same as the 2011 “Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition,” but rather, a separate remastered experience. And here’s something that really piques my interest – rumors suggest this remaster might be making its way to PlayStation platforms too! Fingers crossed for more details soon!
Here’s episode 8 of my Halo Development Update series:
Previously shared was the information that the previous management team at 343 Industries did not engage in playtesting sessions, ultimately leading to their cancellation during the development of Halo Infinite. More recently on LinkedIn, Xbox disclosed details about Halo.

I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about the last point from my report which states Halo Studios is playtesting future Halo games on a weekly basis. Since they are this far in development, I expect at least one new Halo game announcement this year. #Halo #Xbox
