As a die-hard Hannah Montana fan who grew up with Jake Ryan (Cody Linley) and Miley Stewart (Miley Cyrus), this news has me all pumped up! If Cody is game for a reboot, then so am I!
Cody Linley wants the best of both worlds.
Following some relaxation and careful consideration about the prospect of a Hannah Montana comeback, the former Disney Channel star (who portrayed Jake Ryan in the cherished series) expressed his readiness to get back into character for the show and start performing again.
At the October 28th premiere of “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” in Los Angeles, as I shared with Francesca Amiker from TopMob News, I enthusiastically confirmed my participation.
But he also noted that he’s not the only person fans have to get on board, urging, “Just ask that same question to some of the Disney execs that come through, and let’s see what happens.”
If the show were to return after more than a decade, the 34-year-old character of Jake, who had an on-again-off-again relationship with Miley Cyrus’s character throughout the series, eventually breaking up for good in the fourth and final season, might have found himself in some new places or situations over the years.
Cody clarified, “He had a choice between two completely distinct paths. He might have chosen to travel to the moon, but he could also have gone very deep underground; or perhaps he went someplace in between those options.
Is there a chance that Jake and Miley might reunite romantically? The actor from “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” believes they could rekindle their relationship.
Cody joked, ‘We all have our slip-ups and off-days,’ reflecting that if Jake were here, he’d likely apologize. Men are no exception; we all stumble and err.
Regardless of whether a reboot happens or not, the actor will always cherish memories of the original “Hannah Montana” series (aired from 2006 to 2011). In particular, there are two parts of the show that he’ll never forget.
Cody mentioned that the live audience was always exciting because it gave him an immediate burst of energy. Furthermore, he added that the cast and crew were like a close-knit family, with everyone joking, having fun, and supporting each other like a true team every week.
For those eagerly anticipating his return, Cody shows no reluctance about possibly appearing in “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” as well.
“I mean, you never know,” he said, “anything could happen.”
