Harry Potter Fans Slam All the Hate Newest Game Is Getting

As a long-time Harry Potter enthusiast who has been eagerly awaiting new games set in this magical universe, I must confess that my initial skepticism towards “Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions” was indeed unwarranted. Having grown up with the books and movies, I was prepared for disappointment after the less-than-stellar reviews from critics.

As a dedicated Harry Potter fan, I’ve gotta say, the criticism leveled at the newest game in the franchise seems unfairly harsh to me. It’s been a while since we’ve had a fresh video game adventure set in the magical world of Hogwarts, with both movie tie-ins and LEGO games having run their course. The release of Hogwarts Legacy last year was a breath of fresh air for us Potterheads. Now, with its success, it’s clear that we can expect more Harry Potter games in the future. And just this month, another game dropped, which I’m excited to dive into and explore the wonders of the Harry Potter universe once more.

For those who didn’t catch it: The video game “Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions” was released on September 3 across PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X platforms. A Nintendo Switch version will become available on November 8. Developed by Unbroken Studios, the game retails for $29.99. However, it is currently free for PS Plus subscribers, resulting in a higher number of players experiencing the game than usual.

According to some reviewers, the Quidditch game doesn’t appear to be fantastic (based on Metacritic ratings in the 60s). Contrarily, it seems that fans of Harry Potter on Reddit are finding the game more enjoyable than these critics suggest.

As a dedicated fan, let me share my personal take: “The top post on the Harry Potter Reddit is about Quidditch Champions. Contrary to what many seem to believe, I’ve genuinely enjoyed this game. Despite the occasional frustrations with its mechanics, I found them easy to grasp. It’s almost like Rocket League, but instead of cars, you’re flying on brooms! Frankly, I don’t understand the intense criticism it’s receiving. To me, it’s simply a fun, uncomplicated arcade game that brings a bit of the magic from Harry Potter to life.

While this point on its own might seem ordinary, the high number of likes on the post implies it carries weight. Furthermore, some of the comments appear to share the same viewpoint as well.

Absolutely, your experience with the game “Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions” might differ from others’, but if initial reviews left you unimpressed, it could still be worth reconsidering. In addition, if you’re a PS Plus member, you can play it for free, so it’s a great opportunity to give it another chance!
