The Harry Potter fandom is in mourning.
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Simon Fisher-Becker, best known for portraying The Fat Friar in Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone (2001). In a statement given to Metro, Barry expressed that not only had he lost a client today in Simon Fisher-Becker, but also a cherished friend of 15 years. He added, “I will always remember the phone call I made to him when he was offered the role of Dorium Moldovar in BBC’s Doctor Who.
Simon was not only a skilled writer but also an engaging storyteller and an exceptional orator. He provided me with significant assistance and was warm, considerate, and genuinely interested in others,” he added on. “My sympathies are extended to his partner Tony, his family members, including his brothers, nieces, and nephews, as well as his countless admirers.
Fisher-Becker’s spouse, Tony Dugdale, also posted a short message on social networks, expressing his sadness over his demise.
