‘Harry Potter’ TV Series Introduces New Cast

Meet the new Harry Potter (and Ron and Hermione).

HBO officially revealed the main group of young actors who will portray the primary characters in their upcoming Harry Potter TV show. Starting from the left, we have Arabella Stanton playing Hermione Granger, Dominic McLaughlin taking on the role of Harry Potter, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.

The iconic characters in the Harry Potter film series produced by Warner Bros., namely Hermione Granger, Harry Potter, and Ron Weasley, were portrayed by actress Emma Watson, actor Daniel Radcliffe, and actor Rupert Grint respectively.

Here were director Mark Mylod and showrunner Francesca Gardiner’s joint statement on the casting:

As a movie enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement: After an extensive, exhilarating quest spearheaded by Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we’ve finally found our trio – our Harry, Hermione, and Ron! The raw talent these three remarkable actors possess is simply awe-inspiring, and I can hardly wait for the world to be enchanted by their onscreen magic. A big thank you goes out to the countless kids who dared to dream and audition. It’s been an absolute joy exploring the rich reservoir of young talent that exists out there.

The upcoming HBO and HBO Max “Harry Potter” series will base its content on J.K. Rowling’s original books, with one book being adapted into a season of the show. As of now, there has been no announcement regarding when the first season will be released.

Here is the series’ official synopsis:

This series is going to accurately portray the cherished Harry Potter books by author and executive producer J.K. Rowling. Each season aims to introduce Harry Potter to both new and old fans, who can stream it exclusively on HBO Max in regions like Germany, Italy, and the UK (among others), as well as globally. The original movie adaptations will continue to be accessible for viewing worldwide.

Previously, it was revealed that the upcoming series has assembled a number of its main adult characters. John Lithgow is set to play Dumbledore, while Janet McTeer takes on the role of Professor McGonagall. Paapa Essiedu portrays Professor Snape and Nick Frost will be seen as Hagrid, the groundskeeper.

“Butterbeer Season” Snacks That Taste Like Butterbeer

SkinnyPop Butterbeer Flavored Kettle Popcorn

Title Description: “Enchanting, Lightly Coated Butterbeer Popcorn – a Subtle Butterscotch Flavor with Brown Butter and Caramel Hints” (SRP: $2.99)

Personal Review: This light Butterbeer-coated popcorn is a familiar snack for us, as we often opt for the standard sea salt version. The Butterbeer coating here is relatively subtle and mild, making it a less intense option compared to other Butterbeer treats. If you find those too sweet, this could be your best bet. My wife and I quickly finished off the bag in just two days.

Keebler Harry Potter Butterbeer Fudge Stripes Cookies

“Experience a joyful twist on the beloved wizarding drink, showcasing a Butterbeer-flavored cookie crowned with Butterbeer-infused fudge. This delight aims to replicate the cherished mix of cream soda and butterscotch enjoyed by wizards and witches alike.” (SRP: $4.80)

Personal Opinion: These were not my preferred among the four options, not because they were poor quality, but due to their flavor not quite matching the iconic Butterbeer taste I anticipate. The flavors were more of a general vanilla sensation instead of the rich and creamy Butterbeer profile I expect. To clarify, these weren’t bad, but if given a choice between one Butterbeer Fudge Stripe and a standard Fudge Stripe, knowing I could only consume one, I would pick the regular version every time.

Hershey’s Harry Potter Butterbeer Kisses

“Indulge in this special edition treat, perfect for all witches and wizards. It’s not just a hint of Butterbeer flavor, it’s a full-on punch! The aroma is so potent, you might think you’ve stumbled into the Leaky Cauldron. The taste is incredibly sweet, with a strong butterscotch dominance that makes the subtle cream soda notes hard to discern. But what sets these apart are the hollow Kisses, filled with rich cream – a feature not commonly found in Hershey’s Kisses.” (Retail Price: $4.79)

A Butterbeer Hershey’s Kisses Cross Section

Any true fan of Butterbeer knows that the most delightful aspect is the creamy froth on top. Therefore, it’s worth noting that Hershey’s made an effort to mimic this (in terms of appearance if not exactly taste), which definitely adds some points in my opinion.

Goldfish Butterbeer Flavored Grahams

Title Description: “The Wizarding World’s Favorite Drink in Snackable Form – Now Available!” (SRP: $3.69)

Review: These Butterbeer Goldfish crackers were my top pick! Opening the bag, they truly captured the aroma of Butterbeer. Unlike some other sweet varieties, they’re less excessive with the sugar, making them quite enjoyable. The flavors were remarkably similar to the iconic Butterbeer beverage. I found myself unable to resist eating more and more! (Of course, I wouldn’t dream of consuming the entire bag without sharing with my kids… or so I’d like to think!)

Although I’m not particularly fond of classic Goldfish crackers, I would gladly choose Butterbeer Goldfish over other recent sweet variations, including Maple Syrup Elf Goldfish. If you could only try one Butterbeer food item, these are the ones I’d recommend personally!
