Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking Season 2 is Here to Cast a Delicious Spell!

Warner Bros. Television is preparing for a summer production start in the U.K. of HBO’s upcoming “Harry Potter” TV series, while simultaneously satisfying fans with the second season of “Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking” on Food Network. This competition series, hosted by actors James and Oliver Phelps who portrayed Fred and George Weasley, takes place at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden – where all eight “Harry Potter” movies were filmed and will serve as the location for the live-action TV adaptation. The show challenges teams of pastry chefs and cake artists to create magical edible displays inspired by the Wizarding World.

The inaugural season of six episodes showcased visits from Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley, the twins’ sister) alongside judges Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef. They all played a part in selecting the champion of Wizards of Baking. Notable Harry Potter locations sprinkled throughout the first season include Platform 9 3/4, Gringotts Bank, Diagon Alley, the Forbidden Forest, and the Great Hall at Hogwarts School.

The debut of the first season took place on November 14th, 2024, on Food Network, which is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. This marked the beginning of the network’s holiday programming and made it their top-rated freshman series of the year. The premiere episode, spanning a colossal two hours, was viewed by over 5.2 million people across linear TV and streaming services like Max and Discovery+. By December 19th, the entire six-episode series had amassed a total viewership of more than 16.4 million viewers, as reported by Warner Bros. Discovery.

Currently, HBO, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television, is working on a live-action Harry Potter TV series. This project is spearheaded by showrunner Francesca Gardiner, known for Succession, and executive producer Mark Mylod, who has previously worked on Game of Thrones and The Last of Us.

Based on J.K. Rowling’s seven-book series and with Rowling herself serving as executive producer, HBO’s Harry Potter series is planned to span a minimum of seven seasons. As per the network, “The show will introduce a fresh cast to captivate a new generation of fans, preserving the intricate details and beloved characters that have enchanted fans for over two decades.
