Has Bernie left EastEnders after Linda’s explosive reveal?

After years of turmoil, heartache, and drama that would put even the bravest souls to the test, it seems our dear Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) is finally taking a well-deserved break from the relentless chaos of Albert Square. The poor woman has had her fair share of troubles, from the untimely death of her brother Keanu, to the harrowing ordeal with Dean’s rape, and now, it appears, the weight of it all has become too much to bear.

Recently, Bernie (portrayed by Clair Norris), has been going through a particularly challenging stretch on EastEnders, with the last seven days being especially difficult for her character.

She’s been sitting in the trial for the murder of her brother, Keanu (Danny Walters), which got thrown out when Dean (Matt Di Angelo) admitted to raping Linda (Kellie Bright).

Shortly afterward, Linda came to see her and admitted to murdering Keanu, detailing the specific events leading up to it as well as the role of The Six in the incident.

Linda appeared eager to serve her sentence for her offenses, thinking that she couldn’t find closure or heal from the incident unless she served time for it.

However, as the police didn’t seem to be heeding her concerns, it wasn’t until Bernie filed a complaint that they started paying attention to Linda.

On Monday’s broadcast, it was revealed that Linda received encouraging news – Dean will serve a sentence of nine years in prison for his rape conviction.

But the relief was short-lived as Linda still wanted closure over Keanu’s death.

Just before she was about to confess her wrongdoing to Elaine (Harriet Thorpe), Johnny (Charlie Suff) pleaded with her not to.

“Don’t… Bernie has gone to Germany,” Johnny explained. “I just found out from Felix.

“It means she’s not going to the police. It means she’s had a change of heart.”

Linda made it clear to Elaine before revealing the truth: “That essentially implies she finds it uncomfortable to be with our group at the square.

Has Bernie left EastEnders?

From a devoted cinema-goer’s perspective, it remains uncertain whether Bernie will permanently leave the tumultuous world of EastEnders. Given her harrowing history on Albert Square, one can’t help but wonder if she wouldn’t rather seek solace elsewhere.

With all her family either deceased or relocated, it might be logical for Bernie to leave, temporarily, at this point in time.

We’ll keep this page updated if Norris or EastEnders confirms the future of Bernie.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
