Hayden Christensen & Samuel L. Jackson Surprise Fans at Revenge of the Sith Screening

Over the weekend, Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) and Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson) had a unique reunion that didn’t involve any apologies. This special occasion was marked by the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, as the movie made its way back to cinemas to delight both old and new fans. The reunion took place during a special screening at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, where Christensen and Jackson unexpectedly appeared on stage to chat about the film, demonstrate their lightsaber techniques, and entertain the audience. Christensen even showcased his signature spinning move, while Jackson continued to wield his purple lightsaber with undeniable style.

Initially, Christensen stepped onto the stage, brandishing a red lightsaber, and spoke to the audience. Moreover, he shared that the red-hued blade carries a significant meaning for him personally.

Without being overly melodramatic, today could very well be one of the finest days I’ve ever experienced. Speaking of extraordinary events, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith is currently playing in cinemas until the end of April.

In simpler terms, Christensen said to the gathering, “There are many lightsabers around here. I notice quite a few red ones, and I must admit, that’s my preferred color for a lightsaber.

Samuel L. Jackson interrupts from off-stage, beaming from ear to ear as the crowd cheers.

Wait a moment, Skywalker,” Jackson announced, stepping in, brandishing his glowing purple saber. “The celebration’s far from finished!

Christensen warmly invites his previous acting partner onstage, and it’s evident that they are both thrilled by the audience’s response. Jackson expresses astonishment over the movie’s enduring popularity following two decades since its release.

The Avengers actor expressed that it’s just amazing, incredible, astonishing what we have achieved after all these years. He mentioned that he seldom gets to see Hayden, but he is overjoyed to return, reunite with him, and meet everyone at the same time. Thank you all so much for this wonderful opportunity. We had a fantastic time filming the movie in Australia; it was like hanging out and doing fun activities together.

Additionally, he shared some significant information regarding his last appearance in the show, debunking the idea that his character was “supposedly deceased” in the film.

Jackson expressed his hope that you’ll appreciate the work put into it, as well as my unique backpedaling battle against Palpatine. This was before my sudden departure. Just to clarify, Mace Windu is still alive!

As a movie enthusiast, I’ve always admired how Jackson expressed his desire for an epic exit for his character – something “badass” was his goal. However, while we never actually see him perish, surviving remains a possibility. But let’s face it, having your arm severed by Anakin and being hurled out of a window on Coruscant isn’t the most glamorous way to go. I can’t help but think that his character might have had a more fitting end, like Obi-Wan in the original Star Wars – merging with the Force, becoming a ghost, and continuing to guide the next generation.

There’s a possibility that Mace Windu might reappear in a Disney+ series or a standalone movie, although his character is currently deceased in the Star Wars universe. Interestingly, Hayden Christensen, who portrayed Windu, has already returned to the franchise with roles in the first season of Ahsoka and the 2022 Obi-Wan Kenobi series, and he’s scheduled to appear again in Ahsoka’s second season.

For a limited time, the movie Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith returns to cinemas. Fans have until April 30 to watch it in theaters. Moreover, at selected AMC locations, there’s an exclusive popcorn bucket shaped like Darth Vader’s helmet available. Meanwhile, other theater chains are offering special cups and buckets. Interestingly, the 20th anniversary bucket is being sold on eBay for around $120.
