Hazelight’s Next Game is Split Fiction – Rumor

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen the evolution of cooperative gaming from its humble beginnings to the intricate, immersive experiences we have today. The prospect of another co-op masterpiece from Hazelight Studios, a developer known for their innovative approach to multiplayer gameplay, has me genuinely excited.

The upcoming game from Hazelight Studios will once more feature cooperative play, similar to titles such as “A Way Out” and “It Takes Two”. EA Originals is set to publish this new independent project. Although an official unveiling is yet to come, it appears that leaker billbil-kun may have revealed the title’s name.

According to Dealabs’ translation, Split Fiction is a project that has been in development for at least two years. Billbil-kun speculates that the screen sharing mechanism might be dynamic based on the sticky notes in Hazelight’s original tweet, which depict various rectangles divided horizontally, vertically, and diagonally.

In Hazelight’s previous games, you’ve seen split-screen cooperative play. However, this time around, they are experimenting with screen divisions that can go from horizontal to vertical or even diagonal. As for a potential reveal, the developer might unveil their upcoming title during their tenth anniversary celebration in November.

The estimated launch seems to be pushed back a bit, hinting at “202X”. While it’s possible that we might see it in the coming year if development is moving swiftly, keep an eye out for more news on this.
