At the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfronts held in New York City on May 14th, it was revealed that the streaming platform plans to return to using the HBO Max branding, a move made approximately two years after “HBO” was removed from its name.

Starting this summer, the streaming service, known for hosting shows such as “The Pitt”, “And Just Like That…” and “Hacks” along with HBO favorites like “Game of Thrones”, “The White Lotus” and “True Detective”, will revert back to its original name.

It would be fascinating to attend the meetings they’re always holding.

To keep up the humor, the network’s social media profiles playfully mocked the change by using content from their own archives. For example, the official Max account on the platform wittily updated its bio with a nod to Jennifer Coolidge’s famous line from White Lotus, saying, “These rebrands are trying to kill me.

Later, when another user made fun of Max’s name change reversal, he re-shared the comment along with a screenshot from the HBO comedy “Girls”, featuring Allison Williams’ character saying, “Let’s tease the girl who dared to take a risk and express herself creatively.

Simultaneously, HBO’s main webpage showcased a picture that compiled their streaming logos through the years and a snapshot from one of Alexa Demie’s standout scenes in Euphoria.

In a scene, her character responded, “I hope you’re kidding,” with the caption for the meme being, “That’s what she implied.

As reported by the President and Chief Executive Officer, David Zaslav, the shift in direction was influenced significantly by the service’s impressive expansion. The intention behind this move was to highlight the superiority of our content offerings.

In a recent statement, Zaslav announced that HBO will be returning to boost our ongoing growth even more significantly in the forthcoming years.
