What’s It: Welcome to Derry about?

In this new tale, Derry welcomes viewers as a precursor to the movie series, where Bill Skarsgård once again embodies the chilling character of Pennywise.

“Back in 2023, as teenagers, we shared reading chapters from Stephen King’s book ‘It’. The thick paperback eventually disintegrated due to our turns. This novel is vast and complex, offering much more than what we managed to portray in our ‘It’ movies. We are thrilled to unveil the rich tapestry of Steve King’s work, encompassing its heart, humor, humanity, and horror.”

What is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms about?

In a time preceding the events of “Game of Thrones” by a century, two unexpected heroes roamed the lands of Westeros. One was Ser Duncan the Tall, a young, noble but innocent knight, accompanied by his tiny squire known as Egg. During an era when the Targaryen dynasty still sat on the Iron Throne and the last dragon was still fresh in people’s minds, these extraordinary and unmatched companions were about to encounter momentous destinies, formidable adversaries, and perilous adventures.

Originally, George RR Martin, the mastermind behind the franchise, hinted that the series would be significantly shorter compared to its precursors. However, it will still feature a town reminiscent of those we’ve seen while the narrative explores the realm of Westeros, much like the TV show does.

In his own words, on his website, George R.R. Martin stated that “The Hedge Knight” will be noticeably shorter than “Game of Thrones” or “House of the Dragon,” boasting a completely distinct atmosphere. However, since it’s set in Westeros, no one can ever feel entirely secure. He also praised Ira Parker and his team for their excellent work.

He added, “Oh, and we have our director as well: Owen Harris, a terrific British director whose credits include helming “San Junipero”, my all-time favorite episode of Black Mirror. Owen will direct three of our six episodes.”

Both shows are set to debut on HBO next year.
