Well, as a gamer who has traversed the post-apocalyptic world of The Last of Us more times than I can count, let me tell you, this new trailer for season 2 has me on edge! It’s like stepping back into the boots of Joel and Ellie all over again. The nostalgia is palpable, and I can hardly wait to see how the TV adaptation brings these characters and their harrowing journey to life.
Every September 26th, Naughty Dog marks The Last of Us Day by sharing some exciting updates. Although there are no immediate game releases planned for the series at the moment, work on the second season of HBO’s popular adaptation is progressing well, which we’ll be looking forward to this year.
As a dedicated fan of The Last of Us Part 2, I can’t help but get excited when I catch a glimpse of the upcoming season’s trailer! It’s filled with familiar scenes – from heartwarming moments between Joel and Ellie to Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) navigating through hordes of Infected, all while crawling under a chain link fence. And let’s not forget Ellie serenading Dina (Isabela Merced) with a beautiful tune! It’s going to be an unforgettable journey!
In addition to the main characters, other figures such as Tommy, Jessie (portrayed by Young Mazino), and Isaac (performed by Jeffrey Wright, who played the same role in the game) are also briefly seen in the trailer. Additionally, we catch glimpses of the Seraphites, W.L.F., and numerous Infected dashing through the snow, which appears to be Jackson. The trailer can be found below for your viewing pleasure.
The second installment of “The Last of Us” television series is slated to debut in 2025, with reports suggesting it will air during the first part of the year. As previously confirmed, the season will comprise seven episodes in total, and it won’t adapt the entirety of “The Last of Us Part 2”.
