At the CES 2025 event, I was thrilled when Sony invited Neil Druckmann, the mastermind behind Naughty Dog, onto the stage for a quick chat about their latest creation – Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. However, he didn’t dwell too long on that as he also shared some exciting updates regarding the upcoming second season of The Last of Us from HBO.
Following a brief sneak peek featuring Kaitlyn Dever portraying the contentious character Abby, along with various other scenes from the game including the ballroom, it has been confirmed that the series will debut in April on both HBO and HBO Max, consisting of a total of seven episodes.
In a big way, the initial run of The Last of Us proved to be incredibly successful, earning multiple accolades, among them an Emmy award.
It’s worth noting that The Last of Us Part II Remastered will also be released on PC in April. This suggests that Sony is aiming to rekindle enthusiasm for the series.
