Here’s exactly when you can play Citadelle des Morts, the new map on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies

When can you play the new Citadelle des Morts map in Black Ops 6 Zombies?

As a seasoned Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies enthusiast with countless hours under my digital belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement as we draw near to the release of the highly-anticipated third map, Citadelle des Morts. Having traversed Liberty Falls and Terminus, I eagerly await the new story progression and the European principality of Avalon, hoping to rendezvous with the elusive Gabriel Krafft.

On December 5, 2024, the third zombie map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, titled “Citadelle des Morts,” is scheduled to go live, coinciding with the debut of Season One Reloaded.

The new map is scheduled to become available for players at 9 a.m. Pacific Time (which is equivalent to 5 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time) on that particular day, but keep in mind that plans might shift.

The third Zombies map is arriving in Black Ops 6 very soon

As an observer, I’m excitedly sharing that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies is expanding its horizons with a third map, set to debut on December 5 concurrently with Season 1 Reloaded. The anticipation among avid Zombies players is palpable as they eagerly await its arrival.

The latest map for this year’s Zombies continuation offers a bit more of the storyline, and before it is released, certain aspects about it are hinted at.

The new map and Season 1 Reloaded’s launch announcement on the official blog explains how the narrative unfolds.

Following the occurrences at Terminus, Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey, accompanied by Peck, Raptor One, and Strauss, set out on a journey to the European realm of Avalon. Their objective is to meet and form an alliance with a notable figure named Gabriel Krafft. In Avalon, they aim to discover more about a mysterious artifact called the “Sentinel Artifact.” If they can master its power, it might be possible to rescue Samantha Maxis from her ethereal captivity.

The primary mission becomes active simultaneously with the map release, offering rewards like XP and a fresh operator skin for its completion. If you manage to finish it before Directed Mode rolls out at a later point, you’ll also receive an exclusive “Calling Card”. So, enthusiasts of completing missions should jump on this opportunity promptly.

Extra incentives are waiting to be claimed during special occasions, continuing until the end of Season 1 Reloaded.

New weapons and enemies arriving with Citadelle des Morts

With the Season 1 Reloaded update and the launch of Citadelle des Morts, there’s a wealth of information available. For comprehensive details about everything, be sure to check out the complete release notes.

Among its notable highlights, you’ll find some fresh Wonder Weapons and an entirely new type of adversary upon its release.

The Bastard Sword is a devastating claymore that has four different elemental forms. We’re talking fireballs, Thor-esque lightning, and more besides.

The new enemy is the Doppelghast, a being with two heads that’s 1.5 times bigger than most humans:

These creatures, roughly equivalent to the double terror in both ancient German and English lore, are poor imitations of something that appears human but is far from it. The figure is distinctly not human, as it bears two howling skulls, with decaying flesh stretching across each, seared into a twisted, pitted torso of pale gray skin. It also has tendrils and exposed entrails.

Sounds terrifying.

Citadelle des Morts WON’T be playable in the upcoming free trial week

If you haven’t tried Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 yet, especially if the latest Zombies map piques your curiosity, remember that it won’t be available during the upcoming free trial period.

The event for Black Ops 6 Zombies, lasting from December 13 to December 20, will give you an opportunity to join in. However, during this period, you’ll be able to play only on the maps of Liberty Falls and Terminus.
