Check it out: A fresh trailer for the new “Superman” film is coming our way quicker than a flash. Since DC released the initial teaser back in December, enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating another glimpse of this Steel-clad hero before the movie hits theaters on July 11. A nearly five-minute preview that was shown at CinemaCon and prior to “A Minecraft Movie” has since leaked online, revealing scenes such as Superdog Krypto playing rough, glimpses of Superman’s Fortress of Solitude, and Alan Tudyk-voiced robots. However, what we haven’t yet seen is a full trailer.
On or around April 18th, there’s a possibility for an exciting shift: it’s Superman Day, commemorating the debut of Superman in Action Comics #1 back in 1938. This date not only signals the beginning of DC Comics’ Summer of Superman publishing campaign, but also aligns with the premiere of Sinners, a new vampire thriller from Warner Bros., featuring filmmaker Ryan Coogler (Black Panther) and actor Michael B. Jordan (Creed).
Jim Lee and I reminisced about seeing the original Superman movie at the very theater we grew up in, St. Louis. Share your personal Superman tale below and let’s commemorate #SupermanDay on April 18th! Don’t forget to check out the S-Shield tee at the DC Official Shop!

As a dedicated film aficionado, I was thrilled to see James Gunn, the joint CEO and co-chairman of DC Studios, alongside Peter Safran, and Jim Lee, the chief creative officer and publisher of DC Comics, coming together in a recent video (check it out above). They were there not just for any ordinary occasion but to celebrate Superman and Superman Day!
In typical James Gunn fashion, he reimagines the classic superhero within the fresh DC universe, combining spectacular action, wit, and emotional depth. This unique portrayal emphasizes a Superman fueled by empathy and a deep faith in human kindness.
As a film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that David Corenswet, known for his role in ‘Twisters’, will be portraying Clark Kent/Superman. Alongside him, the talented Rachel Brosnahan, famous for her work on ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’, will take on the role of Lois Lane. Lastly, Nicholas Hoult, a familiar face from the ‘X-Men’ series, will be stepping into the shoes of Lex Luthor in this exciting project!
In addition to the main cast, the movie features Edi Gathegi known from “For All Mankind” playing Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan recognized for his role in “Gotham” portraying Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion well-known as the Green Lantern Guy Gardner from “The Suicide Squad”, Isabela Merced famed for her work on “The Last of Us” appearing as Hawkgirl, María Gabriela de Faría recognized for her role in “The Moodys” taking on The Engineer, Skyler Gisondo known for his part in “The Amazing Spider-Man” playing Jimmy Olsen, Alan Tudyk popular from “Andor” voicing Robot 4, Wendell Pierce acclaimed for his work in “The Wire” as Perry White, and Frank Grillo recognized for his role in “Creature Commandos” portraying Rick Flag Sr.
Written and directed by Gunn, DC Studios’ Superman soars into theaters on July 11.
