As a seasoned veteran of the Heroes of Might and Magic franchise, I must say my heart skipped a beat upon hearing the news about the upcoming release of “Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era“! It’s been far too long since we last ventured into the world of Enroth, and I can hardly contain my excitement for this return to my strategic roots.
Ubisoft has officially announced a fresh addition to the Heroes of Might and Magic series, which had been largely absent from the gaming scene since the release of ‘Might & Magic Heroes VII’ back in 2015. Excitingly, this time around, they are introducing a new installment titled ‘Heroes of Might and Magic: The Era of Olden Times‘.
In a first look at the trailer for “Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era”, it’s clear that this new installment represents an advancement from its predecessors. The game retains the turn-based mechanics characteristic of the larger Heroes of Might and Magic franchise, but also introduces more role-playing game (RPG) elements. Ubisoft has confirmed that there will be six distinct factions in the game, each with their own individual playstyles. Additionally, players can expect to enjoy solo, cooperative, and multiplayer modes, as well as a nonlinear campaign.

The game, titled “Olden Era“, takes players back to the realm of Enroth, delving into the roots of the epic saga, appealing to both seasoned gamers and newcomers. Embark on a fresh strategic journey through the tumultuous continent of Jadame, previously hinted at but unexplored in past games. This land is home to distinctive factions, biomes, and creatures.
Currently, “Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era” is expected to release in the second quarter of 2025. Interestingly, Ubisoft has announced that “Olden Era” will be the first game in this series to debut as an early access title. As it progresses, the developers plan to shape “Olden Era” alongside its growing community, aiming for a full 1.0 version release. When “Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era” does become available, it will be accessible on Steam.
